The Pod on the Hill

Situated approx.2.5 miles outside the village of Port Ellen, the POD offers peace, quiet and relaxation after exploring the distilleries and the joys of the Island. Port Ellen and Laphroaig can be seen from the POD which overlooks Kilnaughton Bay. The path to the three distilleries on this side of the Island starts in the village, taking you first to Laphroaig then Lagavulin , finishing at Ardbeg where delicious food is available. Being located in Port Ellen gives you a fantastic starting point for most sightseeing to be done on Islay, whether by car, foot, bus or bike there is plenty to do and see. Just minutes to Ferry terminal, shops, restaurants, pubs and bus stops. The 'three distillery path' starts opposite 20 mtrs away, a nice walk not just for distilleries, also for wildlife, views and the Islay fresh air.

Just a 10 minute drive from Campbeltown and 1 mile away from Westport beach (famous for its fantastic surfing), the area is known for its traditional whisky distilleries, outstanding scenery and the classic song "Mull of Kintyre". The lodge is also ideal for a golfing getaway, with 5 courses nearby and Machrihanish being known for having the best opening hole in the world.

Bluebell cabin is set in an spruce plantation which is a 25min walk into Port Ellen . Outside the cabin features a log fired hot tub with views over the Oa perfect for relaxing after a day of taking in the scenery or distillery tours, the gas BBQ and viewing deck will leave you feeling peaceful and content. Inside is home to a sleeping Mezzanine, kitchen area, electric heating and a modern bathroom with a log fired stove at the very heart of the cabin. Slainte! Karen & Richard

The Wee House

The Wee House is a one bedroom seafront cottage looking onto Port Ellen. Sleeping up to 4 guests with a sofa bed (full size double) in the living room. Listing price is for 2 guests sharing the bedroom. If the sofa bed is required for bookings of 2 guests please let us know as there is an extra charge (£10 per night). The cottage is within walking distance of local shops, pubs and restaurants and near to the distillery path taking you to Laphroaig, Lagavulin and Ardbeg.

The Black House, Islay

The Black House is a unique property situated between Bruichladdich and Port Charlotte on the island of Islay. We use the house for High School to save commuting from Jura every day so don’t expect a pristine holiday let but rather a loved family space. There are 2 double beds and 2 bunk bedrooms (if you’re a party of single adults then 4 is the maximum number). Views are stunning and Islay’s great for whisky, wildlife or just rest and relaxation.

Walking distance to beaches , bars and restaurants in Ballintoy village and carrick-a-rede rope bridge, 5 minute drive to Ballycastle town. Cottage maintains the quirky original features. As always Cottage will be cleaned and sanitised to high standard between occupants

This traditional 3 bed ground floor distillery cottage features two double bedrooms and bunk bedroom (Sleeps 6) with separate living room, kitchen and main shower room. To the back of No7, you’ll find a good sized garden with views down to Lagavulin Bay.
