We have used 2 apartments in this property. The owner (Isil) is probably the best host we had over the years. After our arrival, she had almost 2 hours with us, walking around the neighborhood, tell us about its history and suggest us many restaurants and shops. When we had any issue or question, she was there to reply. The one to have in mind is that the building is old and traditional (wooden) which means there is limited soundproof. On the other hand, the neighborhood is quite, beautiful and traditional with all the necessary shops nearby. Distance from the center is 15' using buses & trams which are very frequent & cheap (using Istanbulkart).

Işil is the hostess withe mostess. Honestly, her hospitality is amazing. She coordinated taxis for me, greeted me, gave me a tour of the neighborhood and we chatted into the evening. Meeting her was truly one of the highlights of my trip. I loved her place, it is clean, warm and very well appointed. One day I hope to come back with my husband and see Işil again.

This ground floor apartment ( 1st floor for we Americans) was perfect for my stay. This place was within minutes walking to all the cafes, restaurants and shops. And to the side of the apartment is where everyone goes to take pictures of all the beautiful popular colorful buildings that make Balat so iconic. They film many Turkish Tv Series and films in the area for its old charm. The host was amazing. She gave a me a tour of the village and she definitely knows her history and Balat very well. She will give you the best recommendations of places to eat and coffee shops that serve worldwide award winning coffees. As a coffee lover I appreciated that. The place is a very beautiful unique historical apartment building. Very cozy place for me (solo traveler) to stay. If and when I return to istanbul I will definitely stay at this building again. Next time I want to try the apartment at the very top floor :-).

the apartment was as clean as seen in the pictures. it was warm enough for me in the winter weather, The Host Isil was warm, receptive and kind towards me. (such a sweet and pleasant lady) I felt at home in the apartment and I would definitely stay here again.

Resepsiyonda bulunan arkadaş Ahmet bey güler yuzlu samimi ve çok yardımcı oldu. Tavsiyeleri ve önerileri gayet yerinde ve çok yardımcı oldu. Özellikle kendisine teşekkür ederim. Kalmayı düşünen kişilere burasını tavsiye ederim.

We really enjoyed the location. Very close to the cafes and restaurants but far enough for peace and quiet. And just up the hill from the Balat tram station for easy access although very walkable to the Helic (metro station) and Galata Bridges.

this hotel was perfect for 5 adults. the location was very good as it was near all the major tourist attractions by car. we had an extra double bed that wasn't used as there was more than enough space for all of us in the remaining beds and rooms. the bathrooms and rooms were spotless & modern, as they were cleaned everyday (but the bedding wasn't changed during our 4 nights). each room had its own thermostat that could be adjusted to preference. the receptionist was always willing to help which is good. there was also no smoking anywhere, which was a plus. even though we lived on the ground floor, it felt very safe as there were barriers outside the windows, plus the area felt generally safe. all facilities (restaurants, bakeries, markets, shops etc) are present in the area from walking distance. the hotel was also very hospitable as they refilled free coffee and tea everyday in all the rooms. this hotel is criminally underrated, would 100% recommend to everyone. we will come again.

The place was excellent as you can walk around to visit most tourist sites, the only thing disturbed was the three rooms were not for one family who can move freely in between because the camera was set in between rooms. Yes as a family I’m not going to hire it again but I advise people who want to hire only one room it is perfect, clean, comfortable, very nice staff in reception, helpful and respectful… rooms are very clean 5 stars .. I like it

Ramazan bayramının ilk günü iki aile giriş yaptık.Kısa ve öz bilgilendirmeler yapan ev sahibi bize ikramlıklar bile düşünmüş sağolsun.Ev temiz ve bakımlıydı.Mutfakta ihtiyaç duyacağımız hersey vardı.Toplu taşımaya yakın bir konumda.Bizim gibi İstanbul’a gezmeye gelmek isteyenler ,gönül rahatlığıyla tercih edebilir.

Excellent location, clean, with very friendly staff. You can easily reach all the tourist areas by public transport.
