This was a great place to stay with lots of little extras I wasnt expecting with things like cold water in the fridge, squash, tea and coffee, cereal, a box of toiletries you could use for a donation in case you forgot something. Tim was very helpful and would definitely recommend and stay again. 20 - 30 minute pleasant walk in to town depending on what end you are going to.

We had a really lovely stay here- the beds were really comfortable! Like a little mini hotel room with a kitchen! Paul is super friendly and helpful. Thank you! Hopefully we will come and stay again next year!

We had a super couple of days staying for the Brighton marathon. Easy travel into Brighton from Hassocks. Beautiful walks around the Jack and Jill Windmills and South Downs Way.

we stayed in the shepards hut as a base for the weekend with our 2 children age 11 and 2. both children thourghly enjoyed the soace and freedom . the hut was beautiful clean and tidy and the eggs from the farm were a nice touch.. will definatley be returning

It is the same haven, the same honest beautiful space that was there (but in a different field) when I first came years ago. Soul-soothing I think is what people in the visitors book are saying, or words to that effect. Thank you (again) Peter. [and now also Daren who comes as a guest and has been planting flowers in the field around the hut] And to the ewes and the lambs and the trees and the hills and the horses and the sun and dew, and all the rest of it. ..

We booked a last minute 2 night stay, Barney replied and accepted quickly which was fantastic. We had a wonderful time, lovely place, lovely garden and property + a spectacular surrounding and view. Definitely recommendable for a short or longer stay.

We stayed 2 nights and loved every minute. From the moment we opened the front door and saw the beautiful quirky decor, we were sold. So much to take in, a feast for the eyes. Lovely little outside space, perfect for our little dog plus the bonus of a sauna. Outdoor shower which I do admit I didn’t use as not brave enough, but my husband did and said it was brilliant with lovely hot water. Perfectly situated for walking into town and to the beach. Would definitely recommend and would definitely like to return one day. Sarah and Matt are brilliant hosts that kept in touch regularly ensuring a seamless stay.

Chris was very informative and the check in was very easy. It’s a lovely place to stay in a very nice part of the country! Great views from the bedroom and a very nice bathroom! Thanks for having us!

I had a lovely stay. Being there during the high tides and seeing the marsh flood made it special. The barge is beautifully rigged out, it's a real labour of love. It's also very comfortable and well appointed. Elise was a great host. Thank you for everything.

Fantastic place to stay especially if you want a quiet spot with amazing views and places to walk. Would definitely recommend and hope to come back again.

The house is perfect for two, beautiful and very quiet surroundings, next to a large park and within walking distance of the center of Brighton (1/2 hour), and free parking as well. We were welcomed with greetings, flowers, snacks and good coffee. Best recommendations!

A marvellous place to stay: the accommodation was spotless and the facilities throughout exceeded our expectations with high-end fixtures and fittings. A lovely "welcome hamper" was waiting for us and it was such a relaxing break, it was sad to leave. A quick game of tennis before we drove away was a unique, if exhausting way to remember our stay! Yes, the bath was as awesome as it looked in the photos and there was lashing of HOT water to match. The fire pit was a great outdoor gathering place, whilst the indoor log burner was really cosy (although the electric underfloor heating was an easy option in the mornings.) The bed was comfy and the hut itself was beautifully made, with lots of oak finishing touches. Although not the cheapest of huts, it was worth every penny, and we were so glad we selected this destination: we hope to return! Highly recommended.

I absolutely LOVED this place, immediately regretted not booking another night & I’ve already booked another stay! After walking in the Downs, and along the River Ouse, I had a lovely afternoon exploring the quirky shops, the Flea Market, and a good few pubs in Lewes! Feeling happy-tired after all the walking (& a hefty pub lunch), I arrived at Michelle’s & found myself in utter peaceful bliss - the perfect place to relax & unwind. Loving it so, I quickly abandoned all plans of walking to The Five Bells. Instead, I got the enormous firepit ablaze & spent the rest of my night warming myself in front of the flames, with a bottle of Fizz, simply enjoying the sound of the bleeting sheep. With plenty of wood provided to burn well into the wee hours, I later found myself being serenaded by a hooting owl. Heaven! I eventually dragged myself to the comfiest bed imaginable & had the best night’s sleep. As if things couldn’t get better, I awoke on Easter Sunday to my very own lambs!! Perfection!

An idyllic location, Geoffrey and his wife were friendly and welcoming. The hut was clean and cosy and a local pub is within east walking distance. All in all we had a lovely evening staying there.

wow what can I say. it was a little oasis of peace . photos do not do this place justice. from the time we walked through the hate I felt relaxed. hosts were very welcoming and helpful. the welcome pack was lovely too. it was so lovely we stayed around the lake the one day just enjoying the peace tranquility and wildlife

The chickens were the highlight for my toddler! Very quiet location, good parking, lovely coffee/ bread etc. Excellent host communication and easy check in!

A fabulous place. Exactly what we wanted and needed. The South Downs are spectacular and right on your doorstep. The hot tub was a great bonus. We enjoyed the solitude and peace for two fantastic nights, only the sheep, birds and horses to chat too! And stunning stars to stare at! It was bliss…… Thank you Vicki and Myles for sharing your wonderful shepherds hut.
