There are numerous hiking trails and waterfalls. Sugar Mountain and Beech Mountain offer skiing in the winter and mountain biking in the summer. Outside fire pit and indoor wood stove (we provide firewood 🪵) Central A/C (window unit supplements the central a/c in the upstairs portion of the house) and gas heat. Large covered porches on the front and back of the house, back porch is screened in with outdoor dining area.

Located 9 miles from Blowing Rock Village, 6 miles from Grandfather Mtn and 4 miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway, Wildberry Cottage is situated on three acres bordering the Nat’l Forest. There is a gorgeous view from the deck where visitors are welcome to relax. The guest space is a suite (entire floor) with two br (1 full, 1 twin), a kitchenette (in single room) and a full bath. Parking at top of paved drive may be necessary for rear-wheel drive cars during inclement weather.

Surrounded on three sides by the Pisgah National Forest with a long-range mountain view from the deck, adventure awaits right outside the door. Sunbear also has high-speed internet for remote work and a backup generator. Cooler months offer backcountry hiking along creeks chocked with waterfalls off the eastern flank of the cabin. Summer features wildlife, Fireflies, and a nice quiet place to escape the summer heat.
