Lovely home. Sparkling clean. Excellent stocked kitchen. We all loved the espresso machine with beans provided. The heated deck and comfortable furniture was the best feature. We also loved the view and all the birds. The area around the house is not walkable though. It sits on a very busy road with no sidewalk. We couldn't walk our grandson around in his stroller. All in all a good home. Would book again. 😉

Despite looking at the pics online, the first thing we experienced when we walked in was a collective breath in, and an "ooooh" out. What an eccentric, quirky, charming home, full of personality - bright green plants lining the floor-to-ceiling glass windows, everything from a really tall cactus to banana(!) to flowering hibiscus. A hobbit shed in one corner competing for attention with daffodils on the roof(!). Amazing photos lining the walls, art from around the world, live edge kitchen counter, differently sized logs of wood acting as window panes, a wall-to-wall stack of old national geographic magazines. All of this, of course, paled in comparison to the view from the window, of sailboats docked in a cove, bounded by evergreens around, and a gentle lapping orange sky below. Absolutely perfect place to relax with a coffee mug and a book. The hiking was great too, we hiked some evergreen rainforest and a couple of beaches. And a 30min drive to Victoria. We loved it!

We had a beautiful stay at Sandra’s gorgeous home! She was such a lovely, communicative host who gave us all sorts of great suggestions for the area. The location is perfect- relaxing and quiet, but not too far from fun activities! We’d definitely stay again, thanks so much for having us, Sandra!

Beautiful and convenient location for our Victoria trip. Lake view and private dock was a bonus. We went during Thanksgiving so we appreciated the view and hot tub. Only complaint was the very limited cooking pans and pots

We came to Sooke to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday and we are so glad that we did! This place is amazing. It is quiet, relaxing, and has stunning views. We lucked out and had amazing weather on our 2-night stay. We were able to kayak, grill steaks, use the hot tub in the morning and evening, and the other renters were all friendly. The highlight for me was going out onto the pier before we checked out to see dozens of beautiful pink and purple starfish side-by-side male and female crabs digging in the sand. One of my favorite rentals of all time and we can't wait to come back!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this beautiful home. The photos truly don’t capture how stunning and comfortable the space is. Every detail was thoughtfully arranged, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. The decor is tasteful and elegant, with a deck offering spectacular views that we enjoyed during peaceful sunsets. Our kids were thrilled with the cozy loft area, which gave them their own special space to relax and play. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a stylish, peaceful getaway with all the comforts you could want!

Our stay at Gavin’s place was perfect. We had plenty of room for our group. The house was comfortable, well appointed, comfortable beds and had everything we needed and more. Gavin was super responsive to all my questions, he is a great host. Thank you Gavin! Highly recommend this home when staying in Shawnigan Lake. Lots to do, and we had fun adventuring around. Would love to come back in the summer.

Shauna was really responsive and helpful if we had any questions. The view of the lake was beautiful and the space was comfortable and worked great for our big group.

This cabin is the perfect lakeside retreat, where every detail is thoughtfully designed to ensure comfort and relaxation. We had an unforgettable family experience, enjoying the serene beauty of the lake right from the private dock. The hot tub provided a soothing escape, and evenings by the fire pit, complete with provided firewood, created cherished memories.​ As a delightful courtesy, we were able to prepare delicious waffles for breakfast, adding a special touch to our mornings. Thank you for the coffee, softdrinks and snacks also. I highly recommend this place; the host is always attentive and ready to assist with anything you might need. It's an exceptional spot for a peaceful and memorable getaway.​

An amazing, well equipped cabin overlooking a pristine lake. The cabin is central to the island making it ideal to stay at while exploring Salt Spring! We were able to cook a full meal thanks to the thoughtful stocked kitchen and amenities! Ashley was a delight to communicate and even before we left we agreed we'd return someday.

Wonderful hosts, very friendly. Absolutely amazing weekend, would 100% book this place again. The lake was beautiful, and the local food and people were wonderful and friendly.

The cottage and surrounding area was extremely peaceful and absolutely beautiful. I recommend coming out here if you want true relaxation

My sister and I had a lovely time staying at Bill and Ashley’s cottages. The cabin was the perfect little size, and equipped with everything we needed to cook lovely meals and enjoy a fun relaxing weekend. Big thanks to Bill for lending us a guitar capo when we realized we had forgotten ours! Say hi to Zoey and Louie for us, can’t wait to visit again :)

Julie was a great host, would definitely stay again! We actually did a same day booking because our original Airbnb had to cancel and we were so grateful Julie was able to make it work on such short notice. The place is super cozy and has beautiful views right on the lake. Would love to come back in the summer for another girls trip! Highly recommend.

This is our third year returning to Maple Ridge Cottages and we will absolutely be back again. Salt Spring Island is beautiful and very peaceful. We felt right at home in the cabin we booked. It was spacious, clean, and equipped with everything we needed. Convenient location and seamless check-in made it a perfect choice for a comfortable getaway. Travelling with a small child isn’t always easy, but Ashley and Bill always make it all so easy from the checkin to the checkout. We even noticed the child sized picnic table had been put on the deck of the cabin we booked. Such thoughtful thinking! Last and certainly not least, we asked to extend our stay - and Ashley and Bill accommodated this extend and were very fair. Bill came by a few times and was lovely to speak with in person. While we were unloading he came and introduced himself to us and told us ways we could get in touch throughout our stay if we needed to. We felt very taken care of. Thank you Ashley and Bill!

Trevor’s home was a weekend dream. Fantastic location, large home with everything we needed. Is was April, so cold dips had by all. Very quiet and peaceful with a lovely fireplace to gather around. No one wanted to leave. Definitely will come back.

What a beautiful place to stay! Both me and my friends were impressed with how lovely and well kept the loft was. Clean, spacious and overall comfortable, I would definitely stay at the loft again!

The cabin was beautiful, clean, and had a gorgeous view of the lake. The bedroom had a great private view of the forest, which was really lovely to wake up to. We especially loved the BBQ and wood-burning stove, which made the evenings super cozy! The cabin had all the essentials and more; we enjoyed flipping through the gorgeous table books provided too. We look forward to returning in warmer (less rainy/snowy) weather when we could use the outdoor fire pit and sit on the dock. The property and lake are extremely peaceful. Of note - there are no window coverings in the main living area which can be seen from other cabins, so we wouldn’t have wanted to have someone sleep on the couch. It worked perfectly for just the two of us though.

We loved our stay at Leah’s cabin. Everything was pristinely clean and the interior is so beautifully decorated. The property is quiet and peaceful with serene views of the lake. We found lots of great restaurants and hiking trails nearby and the nearest town is an easy 5 min drive. Would 100% stay here again!

This adorable cottage on Shawnigan Lake is one of our favourite stays ever. Impeccably appointed with spotless comfort. A real gem in the middle of a beautiful lake community. A must stay for anyone. We will be back for sure! Thanks Amanda.
