Unique and tranquil, in the shade of large Jackalberry trees. At the edge of our beautiful Samochima lagoon, a cool breeze always enters through gauze windows. At night a hippo might graze outside while the Pel's Fishing owl grunts a few yards away. Organic building materials - clay, reeds and canvass, gives a safari feel but with added amenities of self-catering, electricity and wifi. Walking distance to other entertainment options, e.g. boat rides, restaurant and bar, which can be arranged.

Rustic Chalet at Chobe Hideaway

At Chobe Hideaway's self-catering chalets, you can sip a coffee on your balcony as you watch wildlife visit the waterhole in front of you. Our camp is a haven of peace and tranquility far from the standard tourist circuit. Each cabin has its own bathroom and kitchen, queen size bed, sitting area, balcony, and picnic/braai area with fireplace. Hot water is provided by a water tank warmed by fire. We are a completely off-grid and self sufficient facility using solar power and ground water.

It's a basic small room with 2 single beds, with fan (no air conditioning), shared outside bathroom. The room is unique and try to imitate a cave in an environment with vegetation. It's a very good alternative for budget travellers and backpackers.

Reached by a walkway, the chalet contains twin beds that can convert to king-size beds with mosquito nets. The private bathroom is fitted with a shower and a toilet. A fan and bar fridge is provided and Wi-Fi is available in the entertainment area.

Ouma se Plekkie is an en-suite, Shower only, Cottage that has two 3/4 teak and wrought iron beds. It is a large air-conditioned space consisting of a bedroom, kitchenette and seating area with a French window leading onto a spacious verandah.
