We had a truly wonderful stay at Skipping Stones Getaway with our family of five. From the moment we arrived, it felt like a peaceful retreat—surrounded by beautiful views and the kind of quiet that instantly helps you unwind. Christie and Donaven have thought of everything. The house was fully stocked with all the essentials (and then some). From extra phone charging cables to those little items you might forget to pack, it was clear they’ve put a lot of care and attention into making guests feel at home. We spent our days out on the lake kayaking, soaking up the calm and beauty of the surroundings, and our evenings enjoying quality time together around the fire. It was the perfect mix of fun and relaxation. Skipping Stones Getaway is the kind of place you want to return to. Highly recommend for anyone looking to slow down, recharge, and make lasting memories in a truly lovely setting.

Paul was so quick to respond to any questions I had. He was also very friendly and helpful. Heavens Gate, WOW, the name says it all. The cabin is so beautiful and very well decorated. When you first walk in, you're on the second floor. There's large sliding doors that lead outside to the deck that has the most amazing views of the lake. It is truly breathtaking! They have a very well equipped kitchen. It has a regular pot & a K-cup maker which came in handy. There are games, tv, great wifi and an awesome hot tub! The hot tub was hot and clean. We quickly unpacked, made a mimosa and jumped right in. That view, also amazing! The Wifi worked outside to play tunes while we soaked in the tub & amazing views. The road was scary for this FL girl, but you do get use to it. Also deer walked around the house and we saw an eagle. The beds were super cozy and there were plenty of dressers to unpack. The master shower was so nice. I can go on and on... just book it, you will not regret it!

One of the best Airbnb’s we have stayed at! As a large family we appreciated the toys and games for all ages. The kids loved the dog and the surroundings were gorgeous! The place was very cleaned and was one of the most fully stocked rentals we’ve stayed in from the bathrooms to the kitchen! We hope to stay again!

I’ve been all over the world and this stay was one of my favorites for a 3 day solo reset trip. BEAUTIFUL view from on top of the hill that is mowed for easy walk access, private and very clean! 5/5

We had a great time in Newland and surrounding areas. We meet Mr. Joe, who was very kind. We learned about the process of the cabin renovation from him. The inside was spotless and new. The necessities for s'mores were in cookie jars back the back door. We didn't make use of the fireplace this trip but built a small fire for our son to try his first smore. The grounds were planted with tons of flowers and a peaceful creek runs by the cabin. The porch swing on the back porch was a personal favorite! One note: maybe bring a pillow if you like a thicker pillow. With my neck issues, I wished I had a little more support. We also had a great time learning to fly fish by Grayson with Deep South Outfitters! We hope to return again next year. Great stay!

The cabin was extremely clean, quiet area and cozy! Everything was organized and so many special touches. It was well stocked with everything that you would need for a getaway! The host was great and responded in a timely manner. Would definitely recommend and stay again the next time we are in the area!

The house was comfortable, quiet, and in an absolutely beautiful spot on the lake. It was easy to find and offered peace and tranquility for a family vacation. It is in a somewhat remote location (which is what we were looking for!) so be prepared to drive and take daytrips to other activities of you don't plan to stay on the property for your entire stay. Janelle offers plenty of suggestions on local places to visit. Definitely recommend this lake house for a water front, relaxing vacation with your people.

Carl's place was absolutely wonderful. it was so peaceful and we felt right at home. Carl and his son were both there to welcome us upon arrival and make sure we had everything we needed. Our dog was in the healing process from being hit by a car and they wanted to make him comfortable first and foremost and sent him some food and even came to check on him later that night. We wanted to extend our stay but it wasn't possible due to previous bookings but we will definitely stay again soon.

Had another enjoyable week at Ross’s Retreat. So much room to relax and enjoy the beautiful lake & Mountain View’s. The 2 kayaks always a plus. Hopefully will be back again next year. Thanks again.
