Welcome to "Cabin on Swede Hill". Our family has farmed this land since 1871. My great grandparents, Swan and Johanna Johnson immigrated to America in the 1860's, found this land which was similar to Sweden. They raised their family here. Approximately 65 Swedish families settled in this community, became to be know as the "Swede Hills". We just received the Hoosier Homestead Award from Indiana celebrating the Sesquicentennial Award. Welcome to “Erie,” one of 6 Cottages at “The Herons Nest.” This charming 1-bedroom, 1-bath cottage, which sleeps 5, features vaulted ceilings and an adorable loft space with a Twin XL platform bed. The cozy living area includes a Full-Size sofa sleeper. Each cottage is equipped with a full kitchen, including a refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, and stove. Step inside to find beautiful hickory hardwood floors, modern tiled bathrooms, and your own private deck with a grill for outdoor dining.

Up North

Up North and its sister cabin Green Acres are both comfortable one bedroom cabins with screened in decks on a wooded setting. There is a trail right outside the front door that leads to a sitting area on the Black River. The river is shallow with a sandy bottom. Perfect for dogs that love to swim. Along the way you’ll see the best of nature including creeks, ravines, hills, and probably some wildlife. The cabins are only 10 minutes away from South Haven’s world class beaches and restaurants.

The main residence is approximately 400 feet from the cabin. The cabin is secluded and yet close to local attractions, restaurants, biking and nature trails. The Cabin has a total of 420 sq ft living space with 280 sq ft on the ground floor and a 140 sq ft bedroom loft.
