The 1780 Cabin on Main

A charming cabin built circa 1780 situated right on Main Street, just steps from Pubs and Restaurants and easy walking distance to historic Mercersburg Academy. There is a separate sleeping area upstairs with a queen-size memory foam bed. The lower level features a foldout couch and air mattress for additional guests, as well as a 55" TV and a wet bar and bathroom. Visitors have universally enjoyed the cabin's cozy feel. While there is no yard available, the town is great for walking dogs.

This is the perfect spot to relax and recharge. There are beautiful views of Back Creek from the deck where you can bird watch and hopefully catch sight of one of our local bald eagles. My cottage has beautiful views from every side of the house and a relaxing front porch to sit and relax and enjoy a cup of coffee. It's a cozy cottage at the foot of the mountain with lots of privacy. There are no neighbors. There are horses here to enjoy watching them graze or feed them a snack. It's truly a nice getaway and still only a half hour from 3 local towns. For warmer weather there is a firepit, picnic table, grill and some nice shaded areas to relax.

History of the cottage: Built in 1998 as a gift shop selling Boyd's Bears, and other home décor, We were ranked one of the top Boyd's sellers in the country. Once we closed the shop, it has been renovated to a rental space. We want it to be a place people can come partake in our beautiful views, see wildlife & enjoy a quiet environment. The Cottage is located adjacent to our home but still give privacy to enjoy the location.
