What a wonderful stay! From the 1st communication the checkout, everything was wonderful. We had a family of 14 from 8 years old to 83. The house swallowed us up. Pictures on here don't quite do it justice. A beautiful house that flows from the kitchen to the lounge to the deck to that amazing view right on the beach. It was perfect for our large family get together. We all had enough space to be together but crucially enough to be apart as well. It was very well equipped to cater for all of us. The setting of the house is just fantastic right on the best beach in SA but still walking distance to all that Wilderness has to offer. Finally I have to mention Elzette. My Mother of 83 had a fall just before our trip so was not very mobile. Elzette sent us all the info we needed before the trip and even helped by picking up mobility equipment from George for our arrival. Above and beyond! Any issues were immediately attended to with kindness and efficiency. Highly recommend! Thanks

Knysna is such a lovely place, with Thesen’s Island being my favourite area. Location is great, and is extremely safe as it is a gated community. The house is beautifully kept, spacious, and extremely well equipped with everything you could possibly need. The furniture, décor and general quality of the house is great (especially the lovely main bed!). Faith is such a lovely lady - full of energy and charm. She is incredibly helpful, responsive, and is such a delight. She makes you feel right at home from the moment you arrive, and gives an amazing tour of the house (and some great recommendations of places to go on the island, as well as in the surrounding areas). It was such an amazing stay, would 100% recommend, and would definitely book again!

A wonderful, luxurious house in a safe and quiet location within easy access of the beach. The house is light and airy and very comfortable. We were a family of 6 with two children in our party. The house was well equipped and also included access to sit on kayaks. We loved our stay and found that the host communicated well with us, if we had any questions. We appreciated the welcome pack giving the telephone numbers of local taxi companies. We were extremely sad when our stay came to an end and we had to leave. Thank you for making our holiday so special.

Amazing place with incredible views & good facilities. We loved using the pizza oven and brai, also the kayaks, and Phiri kindly let us use the washing machine too. The kitchen has so much storage space and two big fridges (although missing a few simple useful things like a colander). Great place, with lots of space for 6 people. Loved it.

We really enjoyed our stay in Daniel’s house where you have your own jetty and walking distance to cafes and restaurants. Audrey was very helpful during check in and later on when we had a power shortage. Daniel is also very kind and helpful and an extra plus is that we could use the double kayak which really enhanced our stay. We would love to come back!

Das Haus entspricht genau den Bildern – modern, stilvoll und mit allem ausgestattet, was man braucht. Die Betten sind sehr bequem, und der Wohn-, Ess- und Küchenbereich im ersten Stock bietet einen atemberaubenden Blick auf die Heads und das angrenzende Vogelschutzgebiet. Besonders abends ist es faszinierend, das Naturschauspiel zu beobachten. Jaco war unglaublich freundlich, jederzeit erreichbar und eine große Hilfe. Insgesamt ein wunderbarer Aufenthalt – das Haus ist definitiv eine Empfehlung wert!

From booking to checkout Doug and Carla were great hosts. Doug accommodated a late check-in, helped us register with security to access Thesen Island, and took us to the property for a walk-through. The home was spotless, incredibly spacious, and had every utility and modcon you need. A pleasant surprise was the addition of a pool between booking and arrival. The outside space and boat deck make for the ultimate Knysna vacation spent on the water. The restaurants and bars of Thesen Harbour Town are a 5 min walk. We will be back. Thank You!

The venue is beautiful designed so much space with different areas yet not huge. Host was always helpful and responded quickly. We loved the house it was a home

Our family stayed for 5 nights and we really loved it. The solar power never went under 80 percent even in overcast condition and it's so private and quiet. If you like camping and be to yourself we can truly recommend the place. Liz was very responsive and sorted out small problems immediately.

Jean's house is the absolute perfect place for a family holiday. Lots of space, adjacent to a lovely, clean lagoon for fishing, swimming and canoeing; a lovely lawn for the kids to play on, a massive stoep (verandah) to spend the days and early evenings enjoying a braai and admiring the spectacular view of the hill on the other side of the lagoon, in the coolness of shade. The granny cottage in the backyard is the perfect go-to place for grandparents or parents to escape to. The location is perfect, on a cul-de-sac, near enough to restaurants and shops alike. To top it all, Jean is the perfect host and communicated accurately, honestly and immediately. Our large family of nine returned home, relaxed, happy and well rested. We absolutely dream of repeating our fabulous holiday in the exact same house, soon.

I've been driving down into Wilderness for many years, and have always wondered what it would be like to stay in those epic houses on the other side of the river. Well, turns out one of them is on Airbnb! Upon arriving Francis was there within 3 mins to row us across the river, and 10 mins after that we were inside. The place was exceptionally clean - and Francis was very helpful and welcoming. He gave us a bag of fire wood to braai and told us everything we needed to know. Had a great evening and slept like a log - partner was very happy with Volpes linen which translates too she thought the bed was clean and comfortable.👍 Shower was also the best I've had in a really long time - hot and high pressure so she was happy too. No wifi but reception was good. Gustav was also very accommodating. Although this is technically just a log cabin on the side of the mountain - the experience and amenities were 6 stars - would highly recommend if you need a nature getaway!

We planned a riverside getaway with some friends and a boat. House has a lovely deck overlooking the river and floating jetty- we spend many hours there. The house itself is really well suited for a family. It has ample outdoor furniture and deck space to enjoy. The Nespresso machine was a treat. The area is safe and quiet, neighbours are close, but never felt intrusive. The house has access to a well kept slipway- launching a smallish boat with a 4x4 was pretty straight forward. Reaching the house with a 2x4 is possible, but would recommend using a 4x4.

We enjoyed our stay at Carin's place in Still Bay. It is a bit rustic, but it was clean and neat our family enjoyed the location on a superb beach. We especially enjoyed the fire pit and the outdoor shower. We appreciated Carin's help with a few issues and some items we left behind. Thanks Carin!

The place was even better than on the pictures. We simply loved and enjoyed a lot our stay.

We loved our stay with Michelle. The cottage is perched on a hillside surrounded by trees, which gave us the relaxing getaway we were after. We were visited by the local Knysna Loeries on a number of occasions and we thoroughly enjoyed hiking the many trails in the area and kayaking on Touw River. If you’re looking for a cosy cottage with peaceful surrounds just outside of Wilderness, we’d recommend booking a stay with Michelle.

Tashas place is a real gem! We have never stayed anywhere like this before and it was fab. The cabin is minimalist but clean and comfortable. The other amenities such as the hot tub, sofa looking over the view and Braai are all great. It was easy to uber to town and all instructions were very clear. Tasha is also fantastic so would love to stay again!

The road in is a bit rough but we made it in easily and it is worth it. It was better than what we expected. Absolutely stunning and peacefull. We were there for three days and enjoyed every moment. We will definitely go there again, hopefully soon. It is the most amazing place to become part of nature.

Absolutely stunning! Loved the morning game drive with breakfast afterwards. The bird life is unreal and even had a springbok graze near the dam where we were staying.

Die Unterkunft von Anja ist wunderschön gelegen und hat eine atemberaubende Aussicht auf den Fluss. Ich habe die Ausflüge auf dem zum Haus gehörigen Kayak sehr genossen. Abends haben wir gegrillt und sind im Fluss schwimmen gegangen. Das Haus hat alles, was man braucht. Der einzige kleinere Wermutstropfen ist die nahegelegene Bundesstraße, die man immer hören kann. Aber die Lage war sonst so schön, dass wir uns schnell daran gewöhnt haben. Ich liebe Wilderness und es war ein sehr besonderer Aufenthalt in Anja‘s Häuschen. Vielen Dank!!
