We really enjoyed the house itself, as it was so very comfortable and perfectly located, but also the local restaurants. There is a great yakitori place called Iburu very close to the house, which I highly recommend. It was a little pricey but some of the best grilled chicken I’ve ever tasted. Also, a new coffee shop called Pinecone was a really nice discovery. They don’t open till noon, but the young owner is a fluent English speaker who loves to chat with the customers. He also sells a selection of craft beers (in cans) from around Japan. We bought those to take home and enjoyed drinking them at the house in the evening. A lovely 125 year old Japanese sweet shop is close by, too. And the hot springs! Finally, on our way home back to Shiga, we stopped at a little place called Ippei Sushi. The best sushi I’ve ever had. ¥2,200 for a lunch set fit for a king. You should get there before 11! All in all it was a spectacular holiday. We look forward to going again next year.

We had a wonderful stay at Takashi's place and highly recommend it to you. It had everything that we needed for a comfortable stay. Takashi was responsive and helpful. The electric bikes were fantastic for our ride to and from Ghibli Park. I couldn't be happier with our stay.

Kon san was a wonderful and attentive host. His kindness and hospitality made us feel right at home and has made our stay a highlight of our trip to Japan. The house is beautiful and we were very comfortable. Lots of heaters kept the house warm and the futons had electric blankets so it was very cosy at night. Kon san recommended a great restaurant for dinner and even made a reservation for us and drove us there. The dinner was one of the tastiest we’ve had on our trip! Kon san also surprised us with sake tasting during the evening and wished us farewell in the morning with tea and donuts! We highly recommend Fujita Inn!

Keita’s place is the best stay of my entire trip in Japan. I went with a family of four (2 adults 2 kids) and the place has a very spacious interior and with car park, outdoor dining and bbq area. 20 mins to Gransnow Okuibuki during winter which is a paradise to skiers and kids to play snow. The house has additional units of warmer which kept us warm during our stay. Owner gave us a surprise visit and curry packs as souvenir made from his own radish farm!

Assi è stato un host speciale: ci ha accolto il mattino per farci lasciare le valigie in anticipo e ci ha anche accompagnato a Magome, per darci la possibilità di partire subito con il sentiero Nakasendo. Sia da Nagoya sia poi da Nagiso la casa è di facile accesso, avendo la stazione vicinissima. Assi ci ha poi accolto la sera, una volta che la casa era stata preparata, per poterci mostrare gli spazi. La casa è spettacolare: un'antica casa tradizionale, con tanto di giardino interno. La cucina è spaziosa e con tutto per potersi cucinare qualcosa la sera, dopo delle giornate di trekking. Le stanze sono tantissime, essere in 2 in uno spazio così grande è stato come essere in una reggia. Se cercate tranquillità e un'esperienza locale, questa casa fa per voi! Un consiglio per chi arriva da Nagoya in treno: se usate la IC card, scendete a Nakatsugawa, passate la card e poi comprate il biglietto singolo da 200 yen per Sakashita. Le stazioni interne sono fuori dal circuito IC!
