This was an amazing stay!! The house had the most amazing views, tons of space, great kitchen. We felt right at home. The area is gorgeous. It really feels like one of the last undeveloped places on earth. Dirt roads and lots of nature right at the front door! We had a pair of toucans and a pair of Scarlet Mccaws keeping us company. The moneys stopped by to pick bananas, and we had an iguana keeping un company at the pool. It is a really special place! The bedrooms were super comfortable and very well cooled so we slept great. All the recommendations for excursions (deep sea fishing, nature hikes, horseback riding etc.) were all amazing! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

At Andy’s place the adventure comes to you. People pay to be taken out into the jungle for tours to see wildlife that showed up in our yard with no effort. The road to matopalo is rough - can’t be passed without 4wd. I wish we’d had higher suspension in ours but we managed. Stop at the bakery and the BM supermarket in PJ for food and stock up. There is no reason to return to PJ during your stay at Andy’s if you have enough food/drinks. Bring coconut oil for your legs to prevent sand fleas (this applies to all Costa Rica) deet also works but natural is better. I would call the experience *top notch glamping* you’re really outdoors and one with nature the whole time. Unbelievable surroundings with a bed and pillows, hot running water and a working range. Perfect for my family who’s used to campervan camping. Backwash bay was perfect for swimming. Andy’s place was perfect for watching surfers, sunrises and sunsets. Keep an eye out for bioluminescence after sunset!! & THE SWING AH!

Gilles place is magical. I loved every minute of my month long stay there and was incredibly sad to leave. The views are incredible and the wildlife is abundant I don’t surf but the beaches here are delightful for long walks and I really enjoyed taking dips in the cool river and floating in the tide pools. I loved the daily workout of climbing the steep hill but if you are not very fit you’d be wise to rent a 4x4 or an ATV to get around during your stay. Lastly, Gilles presence on the property was an added bonus! He has lived in the area for a long time and offers great suggestions. He is very respectful of your space / privacy but quick to respond to questions and consistently jovial if you happen to see him outside. Highly recommend!!!

Candy und Gerardo sind sehr liebevolle, hilfsbereite Gastgeber. Wir haben die Zeit bei Ihnen sehr genossen. Superschnelles Wlan. Viele schöne Routen in der Nähe.

Thomas está muy pendiente de lo que uno necesite y a la hora que se ocupe, el sitio está rodeado de naturaleza y hay una bonita vista en la noche.

My husband and I were in need of some peace and relaxation and Villa Buen Trueno helped us accomplish that goal! You can’t beat the amazing patio and pool with the beautiful view! We spent most of our days there, eating our meals, reading books, playing games, and cooling off in the refreshing pool. We also enjoyed just watching all the variety of birds flying around the property. We could just sit for hours and take in the surrounding beauty. The kitchen was stocked well enough to cook many of our meals. However, this location has lots of great restaurants close by that we enjoyed—some with fantastic views and even monkeys who were playing nearby! Some nice beaches are close by as well! We spent the evenings in our bedroom watching TV on a laptop or playing games. We did so because it was too hot to stay in family room which had no air conditioning. Easy check in Responsive and delightful host. Amazing location. Plenty of room for 6. Would have preferred there was AC in the bedrooms but that's just me. Would not hesitate to stay here again. Thank you Diana!!
