Then we will get refreshed with the Best Masala Chai, which you will love, and a spicy snack. Afterward, we will walk to the most cultural and peaceful place in Delhi—the Sikh temple. There, you will find peace of mind and will indulge in the culture of the Sikh community (known as the kindest people in India) by volunteering inside the temple kitchen. Following that, we will have lunch (Langar) in a large hall with people from all walks of life, where you will learn more about the kindness, selflessness, and humanitarian service of the community. After that, we will go to Old Delhi, where you will feel the real culture. The architecture of Old Delhi is spectacular, and while walking the bylanes, you will realize that every wall has a story to tell. While roaming in the narrow gullies of Old Delhi, we will try different street food (safe for your stomach) at famous shops that have been running since the 18th century.
The Hipster Chandigarh Experience
Welcome to Chandigarh! If you search the tourism website, you'd find Chandigarh only talks about the Rock Garden, the Sukhna Lake and some boring random park. Here's where I come in play! I will personally pickup and drop back from anywhere including airport, bus stand, railway station, or else to your hotel / stay in a comfortable AC car. We will visit the original architectural landmarks of Chandigarh, designed by Pierre Jeanneret and Le Corbusier, more than 45 year old public socialist housing of different types, public offices, the architectural museums, understand the vision of Chandigarh as an inclusive city for all, see the vision for crowd control and planned housing for all, visit authentic, hipster obscure food eateries - including a 55 year old authentic Punjabi dinner, and lots of snacks along the way. We’ll also explore several otherwise restricted and dying sights designed in the original architectural plans of Chandigarh. NRI? Foreigner? Single female traveller? Couple? Influencer? Diplomat? Official business trip? Students? College group? Senior citizen ? Large crowd of architectural students? Hippie backpacking through India? Awkward amount of time before going to the hills? Family? Bored in the city looking for a new outdoorsy hiking experience? No problem, I gotcha! I’m your guy for a CUSTOM experience suited just for you!
Exploring Old Delhi like a Local - a food and culture tour
EXPERIENCE THE OLD CITY LIKE A LOCAL - FOOD TOUR AND CULTURAL IMMERSION EXPERIENCE Want to try great street food but worried about food safety and spice levels? Well, worry no more :) Namaste! I'm Prachi, a medical doctor by profession and this is my passion project - showing people around this beautiful place I call home. From the metro station, we make our way through the lanes to the Town Hall to enjoy fresh lemon soda at the shop which is one of the oldest here. Then we visit Gurudwara Sis Gang Sahib, an oasis of serenity in the middle of chaos, with soulful music. This is followed by a wild tuk tuk ride to the Jama Masjid area, one of the oldest mosques of India and a hearty meal where you can try out Mughlai delicacies made to perfection (I can recommend both spicy and non spicy foods as well as vegan options according to your diet) and the best sweets you'll find in all of Delhi. Another tuktuk ride away, we'll see the rest of Chandni Chowk, walking through a great market for Indian ethnic clothes and chockfull of history. Before gorging on street food at some secret haunts you won't find on blogs, we go to Khari Baoli, Asia's largest spice market. This experience can be customized to an extent according to your needs so if you can book as a private group if you want that! (Like we can skip the praying at temple if you prefer and engage in other activities)
Historias y comida callejera por los bazares de la vieja Delhi
You will begin your journey at the ramparts of the grand Red Fort built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan. As you walk, you will witness five distinct and historically significant places of worship - a jain temple, a hindu temple, a church, a gurudwara, and a mosque, all within a distance of 200 metres. While walking, the sights and sounds of Old Delhi will be interspersed with stories of mughal emperors, nautch girls, mercenary warriors, jain merchants, and british bankers, transporting you back to the heyday of Delhi as one of the most prosperous cities in the world. You will also pause and relish the vegetarian street cuisine of Old Delhi - many dishes are uniquely found in these streets and hard to find outside the walled city. Finally, you will take a rickshaw to the magnificent Jama Masjid where you will climb the minaret to end your tour with the panoramic view of the old city merging into the new. Join me on this immersive heritage experience - a treat for history and food lovers, a delight for all the five senses. This thoughtfully curated walk is a recollection of my childhood growing up in Old Delhi - its many tastes, sounds, and smells, that linger fresh in my memory.
Witness Spiritual Musing with a Boatman & a folk Musician
Rated 'Once In Lifetime' by all the guests. As seen on TV & socials. A series of steps leading down to water—are a common sight across India but a rare find in New Delhi! Take a boat ride with me to an ancient temple (in middle of the river) to meditate & discover India's affection with rivers & more. For thousands of years, people have used them to enter various bodies of water in order to bathe or release the ashes of loved ones. Situated near a cremation ground in a historic part of Delhi, Yamuna Ghat continues to be in use today. At dawn, the ghat is the site of a majestic gathering of hundreds of seagulls flocking to feed* Here's what we do: 1. Reach the shore & watch a majestic ceremony where we will offer flowers to the river with a traditional prayer 2. Step into a pretty private wooden boat and sail with me to watch from a distance Delhi's biggest Hindu Cemetry, scenes of the Ghats as I unveil you several stories about the river & mythology around it 3. We take a halt in the middle of the river to hop on a tiny island which has an ancient temple. Get introduced to a meditation technique & a private Indian music concert 4. We come back to the shore & have a cup of tea & cookies locally sourced & made in the area. A lot of conversations by the river side follow *Bird watching only btw Nov-March Hosting all days -pls send us a msg for your choice of date & time
