This stay way absolutely wonderful. Such a beautiful and peaceful location. We really enjoyed the beautiful surroundings and fell asleep nightly to the soothing jungle sounds. The host was extremely accommodating and made sure everything was perfect for our stay. This has been my favorite Airbnb stay by far! I will definitely be staying here again if I ever make it back to the islands !

Street leading to the house are very dark at night. Take care when finding the right turn onto the street. access to the beach is quite difficult. The steep stairs leading down is scary for oldies like me. Every day, it was cool and windy, definitely no need for air-conditioning.

Robert and Erin were great hosts and communicators. The house is located across a beautiful park/beach. Even though the park was busy it didn’t fell intrusive at all, we loved having our coffee on the front porch in the mornings and unwinding in it at night. We have young boys who loved all the chickens and lizards in the yard, and seeing the sea turtles across the street. Overall the house is in great shape and met our expectations!

Shiva's cottage was absolutely wonderful. We loved everything about it...the deck that practically overhangs the ocean, the house layout, the design-we especially adored the kitchen floor-the whole house was beautifully decorated, with thoughtful touches throughout. Shiva was a pleasure to work with-very welcoming and great communication. The area is quiet and peaceful, which is just what we were looking for, after a busy week in Kona. Thank you Shiva for an amazing stay-we can't wait to come back!

Beautiful house across the toad from Kehena Beach. The rooms were beautiful and the bathrooms were immaculate. Kitchens were stocked with dishes, glasses and utensils and much more. Loved sitting on the lanai. Beautiful view of the ocean. Walking distance to the drum circle on the lawn. Just a fantastic stay!

An amazing house in a beautiful part of the island. We loved the shared and separate spaces. Would definitely stay here if we are in the area again. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend it!

We had a wonderful stay at this cozy and well-appointed home! The highlight was undoubtedly the stunning tropical ocean view—we even spotted whales and dolphins right from the deck! The location is fantastic, just a short walk to a breathtaking black sand beach (clothing-optional), though swimming is best for strong swimmers. The home is comfortable and has everything needed for a relaxing stay. As expected in the tropics, the environment can be a bit tough on materials, but that’s just part of the charm of being in such a beautiful, natural setting. The host communicated really well and has done a great job keeping the space welcoming and well-equipped. If you’re looking for a peaceful getaway immersed in nature, this is a fantastic spot. We would absolutely stay again!

We loved our stay at Michael's home just north of Hilo. Everything was spotless and looked like we were staying at a newly built home! Just a block from the oceanfront where the Paradise Cliffs extend for a stunning and picturesque hike watching the spectacular waves crashing along the lava Cliffs. The air conditioning was dreamy and to top it all off, a newly installed deep pool in the back yard was so refreshing after a day in the sun. The bedrooms were super comfortable and air conditioning in each bedroom assured a peaceful night's rest :) It was the perfect launch point to watch the Kilauea eruption - close enough, but also just back enough to avoid the bothersome vog! We will definitely stay again next time we travel to Hilo. Thanks Michael!

This was our third stay at Maureen’s house, and we are already planning the next one. My only regret is not staying longer. It’s perfect.

We loved the property. We definitely appreciated all the switches being labeled and the property was beautiful. The pool was clean and a lot of fun, and there were plenty of dishes, etc. in the kitchen to satisfy multiple meals with 7 guests.

Beautiful home and wonderful host. We had everything we needed or could ask for. Mari was a perfect host answering any questions, providing many local recommendations and even met us at checkin to show us her home. The view was magnificent, opening the doors in the morning and sipping on coffee on the deck watching the sun rise was my daily ritual. It was a nice surprise to have chairs and snorkeling equipment available to us. Grocery and Walmart minutes away for quick pickup items. The must see sights were just 10-20 minutes away. We visited the caves, snorkeling in the bay, national park and the gardens.

We have been to Hawaii 15 times and this was our favorite home to enjoy. Everything from the spacious, beautifully landscaped yard and comfy lanai (even with a fan!) down to the soft cotton sheets and towels was so enjoyable and made us feel so cared for and simply in paradise. I also appreciated the condiments in the fridge, coffee and soy sauce in the cupboard. It was lovely having Michelle across the street and we enjoyed some coconuts from the property. The ocean was a 5 minute walk and was spectacular. We will surely return. Thank you, Michelle! Aloha!

Susan's place in Kea'au is beautiful, convenient to Hilo and Volcano National Park, yet right on the ocean. Surrounded by the sights, sounds and smells of the ocean make this a great place to get away from the city.

We are very happy with our stay, and sad to leave it. This is a BIG rental (2000sf? 2500sf?) at a very fair price. For our family of 5, this was more than enough space and we probably could have fit another family in here with us. The place is in very good shape, clean, and has the just-right combination of amenities to comfortably enjoy the rainforest climate. That said, don’t book this place if what you want is an air-conditioned condo - there’s no A/C and the charm of this place is leaving every window open, listening to the rain (showers pass through every day, then clear blue skies), and being serenaded to bed by the sounds of the surf (just across the street) and peeping frogs. We also LOVED how quiet it is here (surf and frog sounds, not planes or road noise), but that does come at a cost - expect to drive about 15 miles to just about anything, including pretty heavy traffic once you leave the neighborhood on route 130. For us this was a fine trade and I’d recommend it 100%

My family stayed at this place for a month (two adults, one toddler, one baby). We instantly felt right at home. We loved that you can see the ocean. We loved the sound of the birds, frogs & crickets. It’s a 2 minute walk from Maku’u Point, a scenic spot with breathtaking views of the ocean. It had WiFi and a desk so I could work remote. It’s close to Hilo and other cool places (my toddler loved the free zoo nearby). And there’s a pool! We spent so many evenings on the screened in lanai listening to nature & the ocean. Basically, I wish we were still there!

This was a great place! I really enjoyed my stay and would stay there again.

Lynne was very kind and helpful. We chose this tea house partially because of all the amazing reviews and it did not disappoint! We only wished we could have stayed a few more days! Lynne kept us informed about the lava flow and we got some amazing pictures and videos of the volcano! She also gave us great recommendations for food and places to see. We would definitely stay here again!

This home welcomed us with open arms! We thoroughly enjoyed staying here! The accommodations were as described and the owners were very attentive to our needs. Highly recommended to stay at on your next visit to Hawai’i island! Mahalo nui!

Remote (and we like remote), private and quiet setting. Off the grid, but comfortable. Location a bit of a drive, but great for viewing lava and wave action on the beach. Not swimmable though due to recent lava flow. Awesome stay.

This place was truly magical. Like being in the middle of the jungle but with every creature comfort you could need. The location along the coast is spectacular. I was sad I couldn’t stay longer. Minor disappointment not having access to the roof deck as advertised but only because it sounds from other reviews that getting up there is icing on the cake. 10/10 would stay again.

The place was very nice. It looks like a vintage house but fully remodeled with all the amenities of a new house. It would have been a challenge to find using a map app but Jeff provided detailed instructions and we found it easy to navigate to the house. The house is near the end of a quiet lane so there was no traffic. There were a variety of wildlife outside the house including geckos, lizards and little chirping frogs to add to the experience.

If you want to feel like you are in a rainforest treehouse then look no further. The sound of the coqui frogs and birds was beautiful. This is a simple, nicely laid out space. Deck is where we spent most of our time. Enjoyed saying hello and goodby to the sun from the shore. Ask how the hot water saving measures work. Once you know it's not an issue. 😊 Corner store nearby, about 8 minite drive.

The house was exactly as described. It was comfortable for my family and it helped us to enjoy our trip to Hilo/Pahoa. We especially loved the room at the top. A friendly gecko decided to hang out with us during our trip, they were likely enjoying the breeze as much as we did. As described, this house is about an hour outside of Hilo near the coast. When booking I thought it was closer. This was not a deal breaker. We definitely appreciated the peaceful drive. Take the advice and go grocery shopping ahead, that can make all the difference for your stay.
