We had the loveliest of times at The Poet’s House. The location is amazing, private, surrounded by nature but close to all we needed. The house is so beautiful, peaceful and has incredible energy, it’s beautifully decorated making it a very pleasant environment to rest and relax. The beds were very comfortable, lots of amenities, complete kitchen, extra pillows and towels, etc. The best thing is the hosts! Always responsive and kind, flexible, very helpful and welcoming. We would love to stay here again.

Review Title: Perfect Lakefront Stay for a Multigenerational Family Our family, spanning three generations, stayed at this beautiful lakehouse over New Year’s, and it was truly the perfect getaway. From retired grandparents to working professionals, two small children, and even our dog, the house had something for everyone. The lakefront views were stunning, providing a peaceful backdrop for morning coffee and evening conversations. The house was thoughtfully equipped with modern conveniences, making it both comfortable and functional. It truly felt like a home away from home, with cozy spaces to gather, a well-appointed kitchen, and plenty of room for everyone to relax. The owners clearly take pride in the property, and the attention to detail was evident. Whether it was enjoying family meals together, taking in the serenity of the lake, or simply spending quality time, this house offered everything we could ask for. We left with wonderful memories and would highly recommend!

Lovely home in the Village of Cheshire! Jake is a wonderful host and the house is even better than the pictures. Beautiful neighborhood with walking trails and playground for kids. Enjoyed being able to bring our dog along and the convenience of the fenced backyard. Hope to return one day :)

We had a lovely stay at Elizabeth’s charming home! Tucked away on a quiet street, it was the perfect spot for our quick trip to see a show at Bojangles’ Coliseum/Ovens Auditorium—just a 10-minute walk, which meant no stress over driving or parking. The house itself is cozy and full of character, with lots of thoughtful, unique touches. Everything was super clean, the beds were comfy, and the kitchen was stocked with everything you'd need (even though we didn’t cook much on this short visit). We didn’t get a chance to enjoy the beautiful backyard and sitting area, but it definitely added to the home’s inviting vibe. Elizabeth was also very responsive and kind when we reached out. Highly recommend this spot, and we’d absolutely stay again the next time we’re in town!

This house was exactly what we needed! Everything was exactly as described. Any questions or concerns I had were addressed almost immediately by the hosts. I would definitely stay here again!

place was as described and how it looked in pictures, house clean and nice with everything you might need for your stay. Brent was quick to respond to any inquire. We took our pups and they enjoyed the fenced backyard. Backyard needs a bit of work, but we are just coming out of the cold season, so I believe it will look nice once it gets warmer and they work out the space. We would definitely be back.

Jayne was a great host. Her house was very lovely and clean. Great location with lots of trees and very centric yet private from all the noise. Also located beside a park for children and greenbelt to walk and jog for miles.

Great place, easy check in, close to mountains, peaceful and serene. Great value. Would stay there again!

Olesya’s space is beautiful and exactly like the picture but better . The bed is super comfortable and also —well you gotta see it . The place is decorated with gorgeous and distinct accents . The neighborhood is walkable and close to the train line . Don’t hesitate , book now !

Kristi and Amber are incredible hosts. Not only are they highly communicative, but they do so in a manner that makes you feel as if you are talking to an old friend: comfortable, casual, and caring. The property is located in a cozy, safe neighborhood and so close to the restaurants and new living areas in SouthEnd. We also just loved the mini-oasis located in the fenced in back yard area. We are so fortunate to have been able to even find this gem and for Kristi and Amber’s generous hospitality.

The space was beautifully decorated, clean, and well-stocked. The king-size bed and furniture were all very comfortable. The unit had a smart TV with YouTube TV and reliable Wi-Fi, which worked well for remote work. The pool area was especially nice and private, surrounded by trees and shrubbery with no close neighbors. The hosts were FANTASTIC-responsive, accommodating, and welcoming. They respected our privacy but were always happy to chat. Jim and his family were all very lovely and interesting folks. Aside from the reason for our visit to the area, getting to know them was the highlight of our stay. We honestly have no complaints about the whole experience.👍🏻👍🏻

10/10 recommend staying here. Suzanne was incredibly accommodating. Her place is beautiful, private and peaceful. We also tried her restaurant which was some of the best food I’ve ever had!!! Suzanne was super helpful, kind and constantly went above and beyond for us during our stay. If you’re thinking about booking with her, just do it! You won’t regret it.

Felt right at home this place has all the bells and whistles for a great vacation, I will definitely staying again!

We were only there one night but it was just what we needed. Quiet and clean and very comfortable. Robbi was extremely nice and accommodating. She even had such nice touches for our dog from a bone to a bowls already set up with water. We will stay again when in town.

Marshall's place is awesome! We have stayed here before and love the location and the house! Marshall is also very communicative and helpful. Definitely recommend!

I had a wonderful stay at this mountain house. The location was breathtaking, with stunning views of the surrounding landscape that allowed me to truly unwind. The house itself was cozy and well-equipped, offering all the comforts needed for a relaxing getaway. I especially enjoyed the rustic decor, which added a warm and authentic feel to the space. Being close to hiking trails and nature spots was a bonus, as it allowed for easy exploration and outdoor activities. Overall, a fantastic place to disconnect and enjoy the peace of the mountains. Highly recommended!

Sweet guest cottage in the mountains. Theme decor is very welcoming and comfortable. Gives rustic chic vibes. Feels spacious. Sofa bed linens and mattress pad made for a v comfortable place to sleep. Two bathrooms and ample hot water and towels. Up a steep hill, choose the one minute longer route up Possum vs Sunset road and it is not as twisty and steep. Probably not a walk to town kind of place due to the hillside perch but close enough that you wont mind the quick drive. We saw deer, bunnies and a bear in the neighborhood. Thoughtful host, lots of nice little touches (S'MORES!!!!).

What a delightful retreat! There were several times coming up the road, however, I thought I had missed a turn. Directions should say, keep going, then go some more, and then go even further. But once found and inside, it was heavenly. Comfortable furnishings. And the book explaining how the cabin was renovated was entertaining and educational. It was a terrific way to introduce Hallie & Mark. I got so much done on my book when I wasn’t staring at hummingbirds, listening to owls, or looking for shooting stars. And if there had been a chaise lounge on that balcony, I doubt I’d have gotten anything done! (Hint, hint.) thank you so much for a delightful stay!

Good: Thoughtful and considerate about small details people might need when they are traveling, ex- first-aid kit, female hygiene etc. Neat and clean place. Extra spares like blankets and other stuff. The place is peaceful, close to nature. Things to consider: The other bedroom doesn’t have an isolation between bath and bedroom. It would have been good to have blackout curtains near the entrance door. And actual door or some form of partition there.

Such a cute place! It was a perfect stay while dropping my son back off at college after spring break. Place is clean and there are portable heaters available, because it gets cold in the mountains. My son and I enjoyed playing darts. I would’ve loved to stay there a few days, but I was only in town for a short bit. The only thing I didn’t like was having to take the garbage down the road after checkout, but I understand that it’s because of the wild animals. Would definitely stay again, and it’s now on my list for favorite places near Boone.

Felt like home with all the amenities. Close to ski slope and also to grocery store. Made sure they put salt on steps so we would not slip.

Beautiful stay on the lake. Felt very private and the place was thoughtfully appointed. Really enjoyed our stay!

Lanis place was the perfect cabin getaway. Hot tub worked great and plenty of sleeping options. Stocked with everything you need in the kitchen and plenty of games. Fireplace was awesome. It was scenic and peaceful in the trees. Be aware the road to get there is a little scary if you’re not used to driving unpaved and winding roads. But perfect for those who want to get away and be far enough away , while still remaining 15 minutes from civilization. Lots of cute shops around, the grandfather winery was great.

We had a wonderful stay at Lake Lure. Kathleen's house was perfect for our family and we really enjoyed having the private lake beach in the community.
