I am an Artist / Photographer born in Kyoto I started hosting because I love meeting people from all over the world and making new friends. This place used to be one big guesthouse, but during Covid19, I have stopped running the guesthouse and I moved in with my wife and 2 kids. Still I didn't want to give up so I left the good parts. Private cypress bath and renovated rooms and made another entrance for the Guests. So now it is 2 separate house Please check the house rules before you book.

TABITABI MITSU is a fully renovated 100-year-old Kyoto machiya near Rokuharamitsuji Temple. This private entire house offers a calm stay for one group per day. The entrance features historic stone paving once used for Kyoto’s streetcars. The flooring showcases traditional “Naguri” hand-carved textures. Enjoy a serene garden view and relax in the semi-open-air bath with a Shigaraki ceramic tub. Upstairs includes a tatami room and bedroom with refined design details.

The entire Machiya guesthouse is available for rent, Within a 5-10 minute walk, you can reach famous attractions such as Kiyomizu-dera Temple, Ninen-zaka, Hanami-koji, Yasaka Shrine, and Shijo Shopping Street. Just a 2-minute walk away, there are supermarkets and shops frequented by local residents, making it very convenient. Each room is equipped with air conditioning, and the tatami bedroom on the first floor has underfloor heating.

There is very quiet surrounded by hotels and residences, yet convenient reach of bus routes to other landmarks in Kyoto.
