Such a relaxing stay at this quant and peaceful cottage! The kitchen is equipped with everything you need, bed and linens are super comfy and the location is just breathtaking. There is so much to do in the area, it was very accessible to great restaurants & hiking. Absolutely recommend!

We really enjoyed our weekend stay in Robin's cabin. Check-in was easy, with Robin greeting us and showing us where to park. Our stay was in April and the heater kept the cabin cozy all night. There were plenty of blankets as well. It was great being unplugged for the weekend and we slept well. The bathroom is a quick walk up to the house. While we didn't get to spend much time at the farm during the day, the stars and spring peepers were treats to experience at night. Overall a great stay!

This was our second stay in the cabin. The location is perfect for biking or walking on The High Bridge trail. The setting is very peaceful and relaxing while offering easy access to downtown Farmville by car.

It has become a tradition for us to come here to celebrate birthdays-as the site is so special and memorable.

We absolutely loved our stay at the cozy cottage! Upon arrival, we were greeted with a sweet personal note that made us feel right at home. The location is stunning, and we wish we could have explored the trails, but the weather and our other commitments kept us busy. My man and I had a wonderful time having a quiet and private weekend getaway. The place is so cozy and the hosts are so welcoming. It’s a beautiful view off the back porch. One of the highlights of my weekend was getting to spend time with Bilbo the cat. He was so snuggly and gave us a warm welcome as soon as we arrived! Would love to come back here again!

This was our second stay at the Humble Abode. Perfect place to enjoy the spring! Cozy cabin with a great deck and rocking chairs to sit in the mornings or evenings and enjoy the beautiful views. Great fire pit to sit around in the evening to enjoy the stars. Houston and Anne Marie were super responsive and helpful, including taking time out of their day to get the outdoor shower working and bring up more firewood. Our 2 dogs had a great time as well, lounging around with us on the porch or watching us play cornhole later in the day. Would highly, highly recommend the Humble Abode for those looking for a comfy, peaceful getaway. We hope to be back ourselves!

We’re an annual guest at Jaemey’s house and the house meets/exceeds expectations every year. The house and trails on the property are well maintained, it’s perfect for our family of four. It’s easy to get to other trails as well as everything on 151. We can’t wait to come back.

Stayed at the cabin during the Lyrid meteor shower. Great view from the deck! The gas fire pit on the deck warmed up the chilly nights. We didn't need to use the gas fireplace inside, but we made note of it for future use. We're definitely thinking of this place for future trips. Mini-splits kept the cabin nice a cool during the day. The cabin was the perfect size for four of us. Close to Shenandoah National Park. We hiked from the South River Falls Trailhead and made it the base of the waterfall. Great trail; do it! I made it on two questionable knees. Hot tub was amazing! Seated the four of us easily with plenty of room. Lights, jets, and extra water features. Was perfect for post-trail relaxing and just soaking, in general. Lindsey was VERY responsive. I had a few questions and she answered them promptly. She offered assistance with a couple things that we did not end up needing, but was very nice to know that she was there to help us out. We already discussed coming back!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Escape Cabin — it was so much fun! The jacuzzi was amazing and ready for us when we arrived, and everything smelled great. We had brought our own linens, but we didn’t end up using them because everything was so clean and fresh. In the morning, we woke up to an amazing view with lots of animals. It was peaceful, fun, and had everything we needed for the weekend. The hosts were very informative before our stay, so we didn’t need any further instructions. We will definitely come back!

Wonderful stay in a well appointed and cozy but not small Airbnb. Pleasant decor and furnishings. They really thought of EVERYTHING to include down to flashlights and travel coffee mugs (and more). Their guidebook was super helpful and Carolyn even helped me understand if grocery stores would be open on Easter Sunday, our arrival date. The king mattress was super comfortable. Great location, nearby so many attractions. We would happily stay there again.

Our stay at the cabin was great! We encountered one minor issue with a broken wine glass, but Jordan was very responsive and offered a quick replacement. A tip for enjoying the hot tub: remember to keep the insulating cover on when not in use, as we found the unit is not powerful enough to keep it warm for repeated dips without it. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our time.

We had a wonderful time! Very private and everything you need! Short drive to Lynchburg and Bedford. Made it to Sharp Top this time up and it was unforgettable. Thanks for allowing us to stay in your beautiful cabin!

My partner and I had the most relaxing weekend getaway at this beautiful A-frame cabin! The setting is peaceful and surrounded by trees, which made it feel like a true escape from the hustle and bustle. The cabin itself is gorgeous—thoughtfully designed, clean, and cozy, with lovely touches that made it feel like home. One of our favorite parts of the stay was spending time at the private dock on the nearby lake. It was such a peaceful spot to sit, talk, and take in the scenery—especially in the morning with our coffee! The quiet, natural surroundings made everything feel calm and restorative. The host was wonderful: kind, responsive, and made everything seamless from start to finish. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience! Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for a restful retreat. We’d absolutely love to return!

This is a beautiful spot. The home feels warm and inviting and is directed thoughtfully and comfortably. We felt right at home. The outdoor property is large and private. Absolutely stunning. Even thought we live just an hour and a half away, we saw birds that we’ve never seen before. Sitting out by the river was just spectacular and we were treated to bald eagles flying overhead. Highly recommend this gem.

Great spot! Hope very much to return. Pros: very nicely appointed cabin. Not luxury but pretty close! Has all the things you need to make an enjoyable stay. Incredibly good access to hiking, both on foot straight from cabin and by taking a short drive. We really enjoyed the bonfire pit and the supply of firewood. We went in the winter and it was nice to get a bit of snow. Would probably be gorgeous bird watching and such in the summer. Really nice to be surrounded by nothing but trees. Felt like we had a whole mountain to ourselves. Cons: I am noise sensitive, and I did find the main cabin to be pretty close quarters. So if you’re like me or are seeking privacy or quiet amongst a loud group of folks, maybe something to think about. Also not the easiest kitchen to make a big meal (no dishwasher, small drying rack) but we definitely made it work for 5 people. Also to note — we had a couple 2WD cars that made it up the hill to the cabin, but we brought them back down hill for snow

We've stayed here multiple times, and each time and season has been enjoyable in its own way. Sitting riverside around the fire ring into evening is wonderful. There's so much to do outside that it's easy to forget how lovely a space the cabin is...you're right in the middle of a town but elevated so it's possible to have privacy to hang out on the porch and read or watch the geese and ducks float by. It's been years now, and this cabin is still our favorite getaway spot.

We had the most wonderful weekend at Michael’s cabin! From the moment we arrived, I could tell how much care and thought had gone into making guests feel comfortable. The bathroom was stocked with such thoughtful toiletries - a nice touch that made us feel right at home. The bed was also very comfortable, and we slept well each night. The cabin’s modern decor is beautiful and really elevated the whole experience - it felt cozy yet stylish. The location is beautiful: quiet, peaceful, and surrounded by nature.
