Wheatlands is a magical place! Experience the comfort and luxury of Wheatlands Country House which sleeps 10 guests in 5 spacious bedrooms. Built in 1912 this historic home boasts high, pressed ceilings, wood panelled walls, beautiful handcrafted stained glass windows, book lined corridors and antiques that have been collected through generations. We are a working wool and mohair producing Karoo farm in the heart of the Eastern Cape, situated 50 km south of the attractive town of Graaff-Reinet.

The gateway to the Baviaans area in the eastern cape, is a little Gem of a town, an off-roaders DREAM! Steytlerville, where you can find fantastic off-road adventures, great for thrill-seekers like adventure bikers, 4x4 enthusiasts & mountain bikers alike. An arid area riddled with Karoo goodness, silence, stars, sheep, goats & all sorts of critters....an area loved by many. PLEASE bare in mind the water restrictions within the area & that electrical outages affects the access to water too.

Westbrook Cottages. Simple comfort, Karoo Charm

Tucked away in the heart of the Karoo, Westbrook Cottages is a peaceful retreat where the beauty of nature meets the warmth of true country hospitality. Wake up to the smell of fresh air and the sounds of farm life. Our cottages are designed with comfort and charm, combining rustic touches with modern conveniences to make you feel at home.

Haaspoort Bushcamp

Nestled in the Winterhoek Mountains of the Eastern Cape, Haaspoort Bushcamp captures the serenity and beauty of the Karoo. The Bushcamp is situated on a malaria free private nature reserve. This unique Karoo accommodation is offered in 4 separate private thatched en-suite chalets. The bar and dining area is situated near the swimming pool and a fully equipped large newly renovated kitchen is available for guests to use. The kitchen and chalets are serviced daily.

Syphonia Safaris

Syphonia Safaris is located on the outskirts of Baviaanskloof and is ideal for visitors who want to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life and experience country life. The house comprises of 5 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. There is also a flatlet with outside bathroom. The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering. The living area has a fireplace. There is a fire pit outside where guests can sit back, relax, roast marshmallows, and gaze at the stars.

Cedar Farmhouse

There are 4 bedrooms, and two bathrooms, both with baths and one with a shower, in addition to the private outside shower. A spacious lounge with a comforting fire place and a beautiful wraparound veranda make you feel comfortable and at home. The farm is not on the main electricity grid nor is there any cell phone reception. Paraffin lamps are supplied in all rooms. The kitchen is well equipped and gas appliances are provided.

Cosy cottage in the Noorsveld

Kick back and relax whilst taking in the never ending views over the Noorsveld, spotting roaming wildlife all from the comfort of your stoep. Escape to tranquility in our private, standalone cottage nestled right in the heart of the Karoo veld. Located approximately 100 meters from the main farmhouse, this unit offers complete seclusion and privacy with breathtaking panoramic views.

Little Cabin in the Great Karoo, Lovedale Farm

A unique and totally private new cabin built for the perfect getaway! Unwind in this safe, remote location, where peace and solitude prevail. The farm is totally off the grid. Cell phone signal is good. Enjoy stargazing in your own 'Tickle Tub' - Hot Tub and outdoor shower. The cabin is well equipped for your self-catering needs.

Shama Lodge - Family Chalet

Our Family Villa is a peaceful escape in the Baviaans Mountains, perfect for up to six guests. It includes a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom, double bed, three single beds, and a sunroom with dining and lounge space. Large windows and a verandah offer beautiful views of nature — ideal for a relaxed Karoo getaway.

Tree House

An authentic adult tree house built into the bows of a growing rooi karee adult tree (rhuslancea). The dwelling is made of a variety of SA wood varieties and shaped around the stem and branches, allowing humans to live functionally within its arms

The cottage

The cottage is situated separate from the main guest house. It has a small private garden, patio and barbeque facilities. It is perfect for a family of 5 who want to be private. Breakfast is available @ R80 pp in the main guest house.
