Excellent little hostel for a quick stay! I had a private bedroom with a big bed, and shared a bathroom. The place was exceptionally clean and had everything I needed for a few nights. The location is great, with a mini market and a variety of restaurant options nearby (Soda la Amistad was excellent). There is also a well-equipped kitchen for those that would prefer to make their own food. Jonathan communicated very well and recommended a great taxi driver for me. Would definitely recommend staying here as the value is unmatched!

This place is an absolute gem! The views of the lake Arenal are fantastic and the house has a charm that the pictures don't do it justice. You have see it in person to appreciate the place. Patrick and his wife were excellent hosts, very helpful with anything we needed. The house is minutes to Nuevo Arenal, lake Arenal and lake Cote, one hour and a half from La Fortuna in one direction and from Tenorio Volcan with Rio Celeste in another direction. e Excellent location to have for a base and visit a large area. Thank you for hosting us and we will be back!

Very beautiful location on Lake Arenal, lots of birds in the garden, amazing view, and excellent restaurant on the property. We were able the rent a kayak to explore the lake which was a lot of fun and very convenient. Stayed one night on the way from La Fortuna to Monteverde.

Great place to stay when visiting La Fortuna. Very spacious clean apartment with good aircon. The balcony was nice and a great place to relax. Koky was friendly and helpful, would recommend this place!

Johanna's place is a real oasis. There were many things that made it feel so: sleeping so close to the river, being able to wake up and walk down to the water, cooking in the open kitchen with a view, finding stillness in the garden so easily, practicing movement in the open shala while enjoying all the shades of green, the singing birds, the howling monkeys... Johanna was helpful and responsive in preparation of and during my stay. Her recommendations were spot on. I was also able to take a yoga class with her and other locals, which was really nice. The location is really good too: isolated enough from the busyness, but close to Guadalajara, Nuevo Arenal and Tilaran. This place is a hidden gem, I cannot believe how lucky I was to stumble upon it here. If you're doubting whether to book a stay here, just do it.

Definitely coming back here just for the fact that it is away from all the city noise and closer to the forest area with a beautiful view of the Volcano from your room. The photos do not justify. It is a room in a beautiful resort full of gardens with pleasant bird sounds in the morning to wake you up. We said hi to the cattle grazing behind our room in the morning. The best part is its not far from activities. just 5-10 minutes drive to restaurants, the waterfall, rope swing and many more.

Hôtel bien situé, personnel agréable et chambre bien propre. La piscine est un vrai plus avec les enfants !

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at Pablo’s place to celebrate my birthday. It is a beautiful peaceful resort surrounded by the rainforest and rushing river. Maria and Darren at the Reception desk were friendly, courteous and responsive and catered to our needs. We enjoyed hiking the arenal volcano lava trails and mystical hanging bridges nearby, saw a mommy and baby sloth during our sloth tour and enjoyed a delicious lunch at the Rainforest Cafe. Breakfast at the resort was also a nice amenity and convenient. We brought our laundry to a place nearby in town to wash and dry as there are no laundry facilities on site.

This has been one of my favorite places we have ever been too. It was gated, private and felt like we were right in the "jungle". The grounds were perfectly kept, the staff was always friendly and responded within minutes if we needed anything. The included breakfast was a plus. We got a couples massage at the end of out trip and it was better than any massage I've gotten back at home, truly it was top to bottom massage outdoors with the water from the river flowing and the lake! It was spectacular. I would recommend anyone staying here and would come back again

Great place to stay near La Fortuna waterfall with a series of pools and decks to enjoy :)

Alle waren von Anfang an sehr freundlich und bemüht. Wir haben uns gut umsorgt gefühlt. Dankeschön! Der Ausblick vom Zimmer mit den bodentiefen Fenstern war traumhaft, auch vom Balkon und der Terrasse, wo man Essen konnte. Das Bad im Zimmer war sehr klein (anders als auf den Bildern), und der Pool etwas „frisch“was uns aber nicht störte. Der Whirlpool war toll zum Entspannen. Das Essen, Frühstück wie das Abendessen waren landestypisch und sehr gut. Schön waren auch, dass es einen Kühlschrank und Kaffee (mit Maschine) im Zimmer gab. Wir waren 3 Nächte hier und würden wieder hier buchen, wenn wir wieder in die Gegend um La Fortuna kommen würden. Vielen lieben Dank für alles! Macht weiter so! Beautiful place, the views are stunning to say the least! Host was responsive, instructions were quite easy for check in and the place was clean. I absolutely would recommend staying here! Oh & as a bonus they have a pool!:)

Un buen alojamiento, cuenta con estacionamiento y todo lo que conlleva un hostal. La ubicación es buena, por mala suerte no pudimos ver algún animalito pero es entendible.

Great house and incredible backyard. Lots for kids to do. Comfortable for our group of 9. Easy to get from the house to everything we had planned.

Mercedes was an incredibly sweet and helpful host, she made us feel right at home from the start. The place itself is peaceful and surrounded by nature, with the sounds of wildlife adding to the relaxing atmosphere. It’s about a 15-minute drive from La Fortuna, and most tours will pick you up directly from the Airbnb, making it super convenient. If you’re looking for a stress-free stay near La Fortuna, I highly recommend this place!

We stayed 2 nights at Bauma. Everything was super clean and we loved the decor, outdoor patio with jacuzzi and the upstairs outdoor space which is an amazing place to have coffee and listen to the sounds of the rainforest. The host and communication was outstanding and we were even able to request a room clean. Loved the unique shower with the small view of the outdoors. It was super easy to catch an Uber for about 8 USD into La Fortuna. Whenever we do come back to this area I would 100% stay here again. It’s amazing and one of my favorite AirBnB’s :)
