A perfect spot and location from which to explore Lamu and its surrounds. A quick boat ride away from Shela. A bigger place than we expected, so good for families. Great to relax on the outside balconies. Ivor was very helpful on organising pick up from the airport, and Johnstone and Jonathan were very supportive at the house itself. We'll definitely return and use again.

We had a great stay! Thanks to Ivor and to Jonathan and Johnson the housekeepers. It was easy to walk to both Lamu town and Shela, or get water taxis. The pool was great and there were fantastic views from the balconies. The bathrooms and kitchen are a little bit dated but completely fine. The house is beautiful and amazing decoration. Highly recommend for an affordable option, great for exploring and relaxing.

Great place and great host. Ivor is very helpful and always responsive. We were traveling as a group of friends and he was communicating mainly with my friend, everything went very well. The place is amazing, peaceful pool in a beautiful garden, plenty of places to chill and hangout in the house. The house is walking distance from Lamu town and Shela, and it is in front of the sea. You can even see the sunrise from the terrace. Staff was helpful and nice. Only note, mattress in the bedrooms can use a renovation, they were not very comfortable. We will surely come back. My boyfriend and I had a wonderful stay at The Pwani House! Lamu is such a unique place and we got to experience it all with the help of the host and the house manager, Michael. We were always able to get boat rides set up, answered all of our questions, and made us feel comfortable and right at home. It is a great location to experience both Lamu Town and Shela Beach. Definitely worth the value! Highly recommend Pwani House!

Beautiful house well located in Lamu Town with kitchen and roof top terrace. Katana, who looks after the house and its guests, is a very nice guy and super helpful. He also prepared the breakfast, which I really enjoyed. Lovely place!

Samaki house was great place to immerse yourself in Lamu’s culture. The house itself boasts beautiful Swahili finishes along with a stunning view from the terrace. The location is within walking distance to several local restaurants, land marks and is located near the Main Street where all the local stores are. Moses, the house manager, was extremely helpful. Breakfast was an added bonus, and the provision of different breakfast options was very appreciated.

I spent a week at Ras Firdaws with 6 of my friends to celebrate my 50th birthday, and I couldn’t have chosen a more perfect villa and location. The Villa is so spacious, all rooms have en suite bathrooms and there are plenty of balconies and various areas to relax and chill. There is a rooftop terrace, perfect for sundowners- we even had a live music performance there on the evening of my birthday! Being right on the water it was conveniently located for water taxi/Dhow pick ups and drop offs. And for taking a dip in the bay to cool down. The villa comes with a wonderful team of friendly staff who shopped, cooked, cleaned and took care of all our needs with a smile. The owners/hosts were extremely helpful in providing us with any assistance or information we needed. All in all we had the most blissful holiday and have all fallen in love with magical Lamu.
