We had a family break March 2025. 12 family members, the accommodation was perfect for us. Great kitchen/dining room for socialising/eating. Never felt on top of each other 6 of the bedrooms had en-suite shower room and there was also a downstairs cloakroom off of the main hall. All of the 5 double bedrooms downstairs had en-suites and one of the double bedrooms upstairs. We all loved coming back 'home' after a day out. Great outside facilities, plently of logs for the sauna, hot tub. Excvellent views. Beautiful stary skies on clear nights with zero light polution! Will be staying again, already planning our 2026 stay! Marian was extremely responsive both before and duting our stay, as was the local caretaker who responded almost immediatley to a maintenance request we had during our stay

I absolutely cannot praise this cottage or this host enough. Set in a secluded country location with scenic views whilst also being little more than 10 minutes drive from the nearby large town, the cottage itself is deceptively spacious, well-appointed and spotlessly clean. Andrea is a warm friendly host, quick to reply to messages. The unexpected extras that were provided brought a smile to the face of a weary traveller. Overall: above excellent

We stayed as a family (two boys, ages 2 and 4) for three nights over the Easter holidays. I couldn’t recommend this enough-what a gorgeous experience for our fellas! They were delighted by the charm of the bus and loved taking turns in the driver seat. Richard couldn’t have been friendlier or more helpful both in showing us around and recommending local spots. The campfire area was especially nice too. Not far from Galway and Wildlands Park; beautiful drives all around and a gorgeous walk by Lough Corrib. Huge thanks to Richard for hosting us-boys are already asking to go back. Many thanks!

We had a fantastic family holiday in Doohoma . The house had everything we needed for a large family gathering ( 11 and a baby) and was very comfortable and tastefully decorated. The house was very well equipped with cooking utensils and essential kitchen supplies. It was lovely to have the warm fire in the cold evenings. The surrounding area is wonderful, such a beautiful part of Mayo. There are gorgeous beaches and cliff walks within 30 minutes drive. The beach at Doohoma Head is a very short drive or a leisurely walk away and stunning . There is also a golf course and football pitch beside it. We walked to both the Searod Inn and the Tra Bui which are both highly recommended. The pool table in the Sea Rod was a great hit with the young ones. We also had a lovely meal in the Sea Rod. Keith was attentive during our stay and check-in was very easy with the key safe. Would love to return . Thank you Owen and Keith.

What a lovely home, nestled far away to get some peace but close enough to great restaurants and attractions. A lovely space for a group or family to enjoy time in the Irish countryside. Appreciated the welcome pack and website with recommendations and instructions. Great communication with our host throughout our stay, which made this a delightful experience.

Absolutely gorgeous house and grounds, like something from a postcard. Everything you could need was in the house. House is bright and spotlessly clean. Great location. Handy adventure centre in the hotel a five minute walk from the house. Margaret is a fantastic host who made sure we had a great trip. Thank you Margaret. The Mancunian girls will come again!

We had a lovely stay here, it’s just outside Galway city and you get a bite of the lake.

It was a great place. Very beautiful house with a good ambience inside and outside. Clean home and ample space for everything. The host was very good and friendly with communication and quick response to my questions. I would highly recommend this place for anyone looking out for a one night get together. They also have outdoor space for campfire and games.

We had a fantastic 2 night stay in Isobel’s 2 bedroom apartment (1 double with ensuite & 1 twin with a full bathroom next to it). The apartment was spotless and we appreciated the little extras which were left by Isobel including bread milk & chocolate bars. Isobel’s welcome on arrival and her recommendations for food locations were very good and she also explained the lovely short-cut to town through Westport House which was very helpful. Thanks very much Isobel, we had a very memorable time in Westport and it’s also well located to visit other lovely places including Mulranny & Achill so we hope to go back to stay there again soon.

We had a super stay at Willie's place. The apartment was very stylish and comfy and had everything we needed including a great coffee machine. The pizzas (and pints) in the pub downstairs were delicious! Will definitely return in future.

What a beautiful apartment in a perfect location! From the bedroom window you not only see the ocean but also lots of happy sheep. In the evenings, you can light a fire and make the space really cosy. The kitchen is everybody’s dream. If you stay here, it is the perfect location to explore Achill, I would definitely recommend it! Thank you Carmel for renting out your beautiful apartment 😊

Our stay with Regina was wonderful it's a great little get away; nice, peaceful, relaxing and great views all around. Regina was the perfect host greeting us at the door making us feel very welcomed, giving us tips on what to do in the local area and leaving us some of her signature scones to enjoy. I would highly recommend staying with Regina.

Magnifique vue depuis l’intérieur du logement. Beaucoup de soin apporté pour le confort des voyageurs et petites attentions bien appréciées. Emplacement parfait pour explorer Galway et le Connemara!

Die Vermieter waren immer freundlich, hilfsbereit und schnell zu erreichen. Traumhafte Lage direkt am See. Die Einrichtung ist zweckdienlich, die Ausstattung der Küche lässt keine Wünsche offen. Wir haben uns direkt wohl gefühlt. Kann ich nur empfehlen!

Das Cottage war ein Traum! Es war alles da, was wir brauchten und die Lage direkt neben der Pferdekoppel und dem See so entspannend und idyllisch. Sehr zu empfehlen!

Perfect stay next to the most beautiful rugged & rocky beach we’ve seen, just steps away (plenty of sheep for good company!)

Ce cottage est réellement incroyable avec sa vue à couper le souffle sur le lac et un sentiment de bout du monde. À l'intérieur, rien ne manque, tout est propre, les lits sont confortables, sans oublier le canapé en face du feu de cheminée. Ajoutez à cela un excellent accueil et des bons conseils pour nos activités touristiques...! En résumé, si on pouvait mettre 6 étoiles, on les mettrait...

Pat has given us the warmest welcome we have ever got at an airbnb. He is just a terrific host. The cottage is lovely, spacious and well-equipped. Great to have 2 bathrooms. The kitchen has everything you need to cook a meal. We loved the fire in the dining room and living room and enjoyed playing boardgames with the fire on, on a rainy day. Pat's dog, Lily and the neighbour dog, Hunter are both a delight. Connemara is a beautiful part of Ireland with beautiful scenery and wonderfully warm people. A week is not enough to see everything. We managed to get to the national park, Clifden, Roundstone and its beaches, Lennaun, the Killary fjord and the famine walk, as well as nearby Loch Corrib and the castle. Some of these destinations are about 1 hour away but you drive through beautiful scenery. Galway is only half an hour away and is a buzzing, vibrant city. All in all, we had a great time and would like to come back.
