The authentic log cabin enjoys all day sun with surrounding alpine mountain, & hilltop views. Outdoor areas provide a haven for relaxation and the opportunity of sitting under a canopy of an aged wisteria vine whilst listening to the abundant bird-life, BBQing a delightful meal, or simply taking in the solitude and the breathtakingly refreshing mountain air.

The Birds Nest is a secluded and boutique cabin nestled amongst the tree tops and away from other houses. This luxury hideaway provides the peace and quiet of nature, whilst maintaining close proximity to all that the city and suburbs has to offer. Black Mountain is nestled in the foothills of the Kaikōura Seaward Ranges, 6 km north of Kaikōura township. Enjoy the hot tub under the stars, relax on the deck, enjoy a complimentary wine tasting up at the Winery, use our complimentary bikes to explore the area, with kitchen and bbq (bring your own supplies or purchase local antipasto fare at our Cellar Door), luxury bedding, bluetooth sound and with breakfast included.
