A fabulous stay of five days - made even better by a spell of great weather and wall to wall sunshine. Beautiful and varied beaches all nearby, from Waipu through to Te Arai. Accommodation layout perfect for family, children and grandparents allowing a bit of separation. Peaceful & private location. Well equipped. Lovely high ceiling living space with excellent indoor/outdoor area. Minor access issue caused by 3 year old swiftly fixed by Sarah with the minimum of fuss, for which we were very grateful.

Amazing stay at Snells beach. Spotlessly clean, more spacious than expected. The view from the master bedroom is fantastic. Lots of outdoor activity equipment though the weather didn’t cooperate with us using them. Child friendly - high chair available, baby deck chair. Spa was lovely

The house was high end with great floor plan. Very clean and well furnished. Having use of the internal garage was brilliant especially having a baby to unpack and when it was torrential rain. Added bonus was the beautiful clean spa. Needed that after climbing Mt Manaia! Would absolutely recommend this house

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Karl’s house. The area is beautiful and peaceful. The home is well-equipped with amenities as described, including a hot tub under the stars. We are so glad we included a few days in the Northland during our trip. The natural beauty is outstanding, and we hope to return in the future.

Absolutely fantastic! Met our needs even more than we imagined! Teens loved the rumpus rooms and consoles provided! Bedrooms were beautiful, upstairs was an absolute sanctuary! Location is ideal and communication was perfect! Will definitely be back next time we come to mangawhai!

Had an amazing relaxing time in Alison’s slice of paradise & even though we had a tropical cyclone hit during our stay so couldn’t enjoy the spa we still enjoyed our time, Alison is such an amazing responsive host and I can’t wait to book again. Pataua South is a gem. The spot is idyllic and having two large decks gives you outside options depending on the weather. The kitchen is well appointed. The only thing I'd suggest is providing a hardcopy of all the 'operating instructions' so many remotes and appliances that for the technologically challenged, having those handy would have been helpful. Possibly crossing the tie downs on the spa pool would also keep the lid on better and stop sand getting in, so it could be used. On the scale of things though, so minor and doesn't detract from the wonderful setting and fabulous amenities. Highly recommend. Thanks Cassie and Laurence.

This house is absolutely stunning. It sits on a private beach with magnificent sea views and a big deck looking out over the ocean. It’s surrounded by native bush, loads of birds and a feeling of privacy & serenity. The ocean-facing doors and windows all open up so it has a wonderful indoor/outdoor flow. There’s a lovely hot tub with a sea view too! Downstairs, there are the living spaces and upstairs, the bedrooms. The bedrooms are lovely - three large rooms with double (maybe queen or king??) beds, as well as two ‘kids rooms’ with twin beds and/or bunks. Two of the larger double rooms have private balconies & ensuites. It’s a beautiful & delightful house. Very well appointed. Perfect for a larger group, close to Matakana, Omaha and all of the lovely things to do there. We’ll be back! Thank you very much Rosie ❤️ The kitchen is large and well appointed, with a big gas stove & oven.

Five adults and six children had a wonderful weekend in Mangawhai, using Carolynn's house as our base. There was plenty of space for everyone to find their own corner, both inside and out. The kitchen was big enough for several cooks to work in at once and the dining table was big enough for us to all sit around so mealtimes were a treat, not a chore. Amazing view to the east, including sunrise across water and moonscape sand dunes. The spa at the end of the day was a special treat for our family, as was the large TV screen in the lounge. We missed a few books and board games but everything else was in good supply. Thank you for a special long weekend with my family Carolynn.

I cannot say enough about how beautiful Gill's home is. The surroundings are so beautiful, short drive into town where you can find everything your looking for. Gill is such a wonderful and kind host, if you have a chance to visit her home, you will not be disappointed. Thank you for making my son's wedding so special, so lucky to have met such a amazing woman.

The house is situated on top of a hill with a breathtaking view. Our families of 10 adults and 4 children spent four nights at the lodge. The house is like maze. Plenty of space for everyone. It's clean, fresh linen and towels and reliable wifi. The kitchen is very well equipped to cater for large groups. The outdoor BBQ and pizza oven were a bonus. Plenty of things for the kids too i.e. trampoline, table tennis, throwing darts and toys. Great communication from the host Daniel. He sent clear and easy to follow instructions a few days before our arrival. We want to go back again and would definitely recommend this place.

Incredible! We absolutely loved our stay at the lodge. The views were beautiful, and it was so peaceful. We were fortunate to have clear skies on our first night, and had an amazing view of the stars. A little bit difficult to get around i.e to the beach and lighthouse etc however we made the most of relaxing, and would definitely return.

We absolutely loved our stay at Kapia Lodge. This truly is heaven on Earth! so peaceful and private. We were lucky to have clear skies, so many stars & a beautiful view of the milky way. Kapia Lodge was the perfect place to relax and unwind. The BBQ was great for cooking our meals. Luxurious with everything you need. Would definately recommend!

Peaceful and private cabin with a lovely bath with great views. Very clean. Great for a night away. The cute chickens were a bonus! Warm for the cold nights.

Thank you Linda for a beautiful stay, the space was perfect! Linda was friendly, helpful & a great host, allowing us to arrive early on short notice & kindly offering a few extra hours on our last day. We enjoyed the stay very much w the serene private backyard & outdoor bath. Great access to the township & local pub just a stroll out the backgate! Highly recommend!

I am beyond grateful for the extraordinarily beautiful home and the extra mile the hosts go to ensure a comfortable and safe stay. A weather event tried to hinder our setting but we were so safe and very secure. They gave us use of a vehicle to access the property safely. Breakfast was supplied for us and it was better than a continental buffet. With everything coming from local sources. Cant say enough to express our gratitude. That spa though.....OMG 😍 so good. Could have slept in there. Highly recommend. Im definitely booking again.

Sheryl and Ian were very warm and friendly hosts with good recommendations for local coffee and places of interest. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and loved the cute cabin details, books and artwork. The outdoor kitchen was adequate for cooking meals and the spa added a nice touch of relaxing luxury.
