The barn was beautifully situated and very peaceful. We loved the family dogs and cats coming to visit us. The barn is right on the Cuckoo trail and so we enjoyed walking along enjoying the spring sunshine . A really lovely pub in Old Heathfield called The Star Inn is definitely worth a visit, it's warm, cosy and very friendly. The food was delicious so well worth the short walk from the barn. A couple of nights in this beautiful setting was just perfect.

We had a lovely stay here, my partner was doing a weekend course at Sussex Green Woodworking and this was a perfect place for us to stay, just 4 minute drive away. The location is peaceful and beautiful, and we enjoyed having coffee with the noise of horses and chickens nearby. Nice restaurants nearby, would especially recommend Poco Wine about 15 mins drive away. Would definitely be back to explore more of the natural beauty in the area.

Staying at this charming countryside home was an absolute dream.Tucked away in a peaceful village,the house offers breathtaking views of open green fields trees stretching as far as the eye see. It’s beautiful clean,quiet and peaceful.we absolutely come back again.

This is an exceptional barn… beautiful inside and out with the most perfect location in the countryside. The barn had everything you could ask for and the styling and attention was very ‘homes and gardens’ …. Whilst also being functional. Large property with plenty of space inside and out. To add to this Melanie has this just right on so many levels

I booked thi beautiful oast house for the night before my wedding & I stayed here with my bridesmaids and a further 2 nights with my new husband. The Oast house was absolutely beautiful, spotlessly clean and decorated beautifully. Charlotte was very welcoming, helpful, gave great recommendations for walks and local pubs to have a roast and was very kind in her good wishes for our stay and congratulations as newly weds. My friends, husband and myself were all so impressed with the oast house and loved the homely, modern, yet traditional feel of the place. The oast house had all the facilities and amenities we required plus great WiFi. It’s so peaceful and quiet we slept very well! Additionally, the personalised welcome letter on the type writer was a really nice touch and again very welcoming. My husband and I liked the Oast house so much we would love to come again and stay for our first wedding anniversary! What a perfect place to start our married life. Thank you Charlotte

A recent stay at The Old Dairy couldn’t have been more welcome! Gill is a brilliant, attentive host and incredibly helpful with directions to the property, which is located close to Surrey Hills and plenty of beautiful walking routes. The property itself offers peace and comfort, off the beaten track and perfect for any length of stay. Complete with amenities as described, The Old Dairy is great for a countryside escape. Would very much recommend!

We really enjoyed our stay at The Piggery. It is an attractively decorated cottage and everything that you need for your stay is provided. The setting is peaceful and picturesque and there are lots of things to do nearby. The enclosed garden was perfect for our dog and there are some lovely walks just outside the door.

This is our second stay at rose cottage It’s a wonderful peaceful setting and very rural In fact idyllic A peace of heaven not from home which is an hour away Lots of beautiful walks and national trusts The swan and cricketers are good pubs We did a fantastic walk from hatch lands NT which took in east and west clanden coming back into hatch lands And another great walk Cobham to downsize about 6-7 miles Polsden Lacey winkworth arboretum and Reigate hill all good walks as well Colette s home is stunning the horses are beautiful and the paddocks and meadows full of deer rabbit pheasant badgers and owls The bird song magnificent and the red kites all added to a most beautiful stay Will be back soon

We stayed for a couple of days at Lottie’s barn with my parents and 1y old. We really had an amazing time. The house is cosy and very well equipped. The quiet setting just next to the meadows ensures for a peaceful night’s sleep. The barn is ideally situated to explore the surroundings; lots of national trust properties to discover; Lewes and Brighton are within easy reach and also for the little ones there’s a lot that the area has to offer! Highly recommend Lottie’s place for a little countryside escape!

Sophie & Ed were absolutely amazing hosts, nothing was too much trouble. Their Barn is beautifully designed and set out, it is comfortable and had everything and more in it that I needed for a four night stay. The location was a 2 min drive from where I needed to be so it was perfect for travelling to and fro and lovely to come back to after a long day to rest in. Thank you.

We had a wonderful weekend at the barn as an adult family of six, with a baby, and our family dogs too. The property is gorgeous with all the amenities you need. The quality of the kitchen equipment, bedding, furniture etc is exceptional. Beds were so comfortable. We did a lot of walking, sometimes directly from the back door and some excellent walks from a short drive away. We had Sunday dinner at the local pub recommended by Ingela which was delicious, and Ingela's communication and recommendations were spot on. Thank you, we will definitely return if we visit this area again.

Old Hatch Barns is an exceptional property in a stunning location — beautifully restored and furnished, with no end of gorgeous design touches. It’s a spectacular venue for a larger group — we stayed as a family of 7, with another 2 using the annexe in the main house. David and Katie were perfect hosts — warm, welcoming and keen to help. Highly recommended.

We have just come back from a lovely weekend stay at the barn - we just wanted a quick get away from London and it was everything that we asked for and more! Matthew and Claire were super helpful and clearly take pride in the barn! Thank you very much for having us!

Clean, very comfortable and warm. The wood burner was particularly nice to have in November. There was a nice welcome basket plus additional handy items like dishwasher tablets etc. Everything worked and the wi-fi was good. We plan to return.

A lovely stay, really quiet and feels super private. Check-in instructions were clear. Instructions were provided to help find the barn. Everything was spotless, and we were given lovely extras such as fresh eggs, milk, tea, coffee, sugar. Would definitely stay here again if returning to the area.

A really beautiful and such a peaceful setting. Nicole was so welcoming. The cottage was exceptional, but it was all those special extras that made it stand head and shoulders over other Airbnbs. We arrived to a wonderful hamper, with a homemade cake, there was bread, butter, biscuits, fruit juice, eggs from Nicole’s chickens. Lovely bunch of roses in a vase, gave our whole experience that bit of extra love Everywhere was spotless. The television was a good size, with plenty of channels. Also, there were plenty of plug sockets. For me personally, the horses and dogs were a huge bonus for me. We’ll be back 😉

Wij, een gezin van vier, hebben enorm genoten van de prachtige Cow Shed. Een fantastisch huisje met een geweldig uitzicht en een prachtige ligging. Zeer centraal gelegen voor bezienswaardigheden en steden, maar toch midden in de natuur en heel privé. Wij komen graag nog eens terug!

Stayed at Janet’s prior to a long haul flight breaking up the journey. The old stable was a perfect venue clean,comfortable and well appointed. Both Janet and Anthony were very welcoming. Lovely peaceful walk to the church and along the country lanes.Proof that small things really do come in good packages! Thank you both Cath and Adrian

Where do I start?! Clair was the perfect host! Although the piggery is attached to the family home, it is still private and secluded! Shortly after check in Clair came to introduce herself to see if everything was okay and even have a few recommendations! The piggery is surprisingly spacious compared to the pictures. The whole place was spotless! The hot hub is perfect for 2! Not cramped and perfectly cosy! Scenery was fab, the clouds held off and we even managed to enjoy a picturesque sunset on the first night! Would definitely recommend to anyone!

We really enjoyed our Easter week stay at the The Long Stable. Andrew and his wife were very welcoming and supportive hosts. The location is idyllic, very quiet and private, even if other farm buildings are nearby you won‘t be disturbed and can make the most of the huge terrace. The cottage is very tastefully furnished and everything is to a high standard. All mod cons are available and the kitchen is fully equipped so wie could enjoy cooking ourselves as well as trying out some of the many pubs and restaurants within easy reach by car. You can stroll around the farm or nearby woods at your leisure, we particulary enjoyed saying hello to the newborn lambs one of which we were allowed to feed as well. The farm is ideally located to visit the coast (recommending Rye Harbour Nature Reserve), National Trust Sites like Sissinghurst or Bateman or simply enjoy the countryside…you really are spoilt for choice. We highly recommend The Long Stable and would love to return for a longer stay.

A fabulous hide away in this pocket of English countryside. Has an element of secret garden to it as you come down the easily accessible track. Was the perfect antidote to a hectic few weeks at work. Responsive hosts and felt very welcome on their gorgeous plot of land. Nearby to several fantastic better known hikes but also has some lovely trails on your doorstep (part of the Wealdway). Gun Tap Room nearby also a real gem. Highly recommend.
