We have recently updated this cottage ---- with a new kitchen with a proper hob and oven, and also replaced all the windows and even the front door ! The Forge cottage is set on our working sheep farm, on the Durham Northumberland border. Ideal for couples, or people traveling on their own, the cottage is a great location for local attractions such as Beamish Museum, Durham, Newcastle, Kilhope lead mining museum etc., but it's also great for those looking for peace and quiet and country walks !!

Phil's Cottage is a beautiful one bedroom stone cottage with stunning countryside views. The cottage is a recently refurbished barn conversion ideally located just 2 miles from the historic market town of Barnard Castle. The property offers plenty of private parking, and outdoor seating area to the front and pretty courtyard to the rear with outdoor seating . Dogs are subject to an additional £25 per stay. Maximum one fully house trained well behaved adult dog by prior permission from owners.

Downstairs is a large bathroom (bath & walk in power shower). Upstairs two large bedrooms with reading chairs.

There are plenty of footpaths and cycle trails meandering through the beautiful Durham Dales and North Pennines. Within easy reach of the Lake District and Northumberland (Hadrians Wall). Holmlea is a traditional stone built Dales cottage dating back to the late 1700s situated in the village of Mickleton. Perfect for a couple, the accommodation consists of one bedroom , cosy sitting room, a well equipped kitchen and modern shower room . Mickleton is a small village close to both Barnard Castle and Middleton - in - Teesdale .There are good country pubs close by and scenic walks .
