Mount Hope Heritage Home

Welcome to one of the oldest homes in Mount Hope. This house was built in 1910 as the home and office for the doctor that served the people living in "The little town with a big welcome". James and Lucy Wilkins purchased this home in 1940. James was the accountant for the New River Coal Company having moved to the area in 1920s. This home has been restored to its original appearance reflecting the styles of the Victorian / Art Nouveau eras. Come and step back in time in this unique home.

Keep it simple at this peaceful and centrally-located place. Our place is on a little dirt road with a beautiful view of the sun rising over the mountains and horses grazing in the field. Off the main road approximately 1/10 of a mile with no traffic in front of the house. Beautiful backyard with a fire pit and grill, also corn hole for outdoor fun. 2 Bedroom Historical Second Floor Apt

This is a very large second floor apartment located in one of the oldest buildings in Mt. Hope. The apartment has its original hard wood floors and large ceilings. The bedrooms both have king size beds that are extremely comfortable. There is a space off the master bedroom that can be used for work, reading or even enjoy a 2 person breakfast while looking at the town. Being so old there are still flaws to the apartment. I tried to maintain as much original features as possible.

Cute 1-BR stone cottage close to NRG

When visiting the New River Gorge National Park and Preserve, stay at this quaint stone cottage less than a mile off of Route 19 in downtown Oak Hill, WV. Things to Note: This little cottage has skylights upstairs, so light floods into this space from sunrise to sundown. Also, the mattress is firm. Finally, the hot water is provided via a tankless hot water heater, which has been known to cause water temperature variability.
