胡乱座（ウロンザ）の家屋は1897年（明治30年）に建てられました。 京町家と呼ばれる伝統家屋です。 2007年に文化財登録されました。 125年以上前の自然環境や生活習慣や文化に合わせて建てられた建物です。 つまり現代の気候や生活習慣や考え方とは合わない部分が多いです。 失われていく建物に滞在することで、お客様自身が(伝統家屋の「良さ」「悪さ」も含め)見て、触れて、感じて、考える体験型のゲストハウスです。 快適で便利で充実したサービスを求める人には不向きです。 そして静かに過ごしたい人のためのゲストハウスです。
 一般的な宿と違いハウスルールが多いです。
マナーにも厳しいです。 にぎやかに過ごしたい人や、お喋りを楽しみたい人などには不向きです。 コンセプトによりエアコンは設置していません。 夏の暑さや冬の寒さに弱い人にはお勧めしません。 静かに落ち着いた時間を大切にしたい人には好まれます。 1人で運営しているため毎日閉館時間があります(昼12時〜午後4時)。 設備やハウスルールをご同意してからご予約をお願いします。　 非日常となった空間で様々なことを感じて考えてみて下さい。

Artist's house in Kyoto with a big cypress bath

I am an Artist / Photographer born in Kyoto I started hosting because I love meeting people from all over the world and making new friends. This place used to be one big guesthouse, but during Covid19, I have stopped running the guesthouse and I moved in with my wife and 2 kids. Still I didn't want to give up so I left the good parts. Private cypress bath and renovated rooms and made another entrance for the Guests. So now it is 2 separate house Please check the house rules before you book.

kyoto villa soso (Near Kyoto station)

《May 2019 TV can be watched.》 It is located 15 minutes on foot from Kyoto station. It will be lent to a Kyoto townhouse style building. I put the finest furniture and the finest bed. You can also use wifi. The bath is about the size of two adults and uses Japanese cypress. It will be a very beautiful room just opened in January. Please try and stay at once. The location of the hotel is in a place where you can walk to downtown area of Kyoto and famous temples. It is a very convenient place.

【90 years old Japanese house】1F Single YAMABUKI

Higurashi-sou is a small guest house with 5 guest rooms only. This room is called 'Yamabuki' with the view of kiwifruit vines, which has unique Karakami paper doors with hand-drawn gourd vine and flying butterflies. We can offer 'free bathhouse ticket', Enjoy our bathhouse culture with the locals! We also have other room types, please check our profile for more information. (This Yamabuki room is only for one person stay. Please check other room types for 2-3 people stay)

This village is left behind in the modernization thus there is still the original Japanese landscape with history and tradition. There is a bridge to the Lodge, so it’s calm and quiet, keeps privacy apart from village. The beauty of Japan is based on sensibility to Nature. There is beautiful bath and Hammam faced on the garden, at night time, you will see deers through living room.

Our inn was apparently built in the early Showa period. We have renovated the bathroom and kitchen areas to make your stay more comfortable while still retaining the charm of the townhouse, such as the low ceilings and narrow, steep stairs. Why not try experiencing a bit of Kyoto life? Please note that we will charge a local accommodation tax (200 yen per person per night) in addition to the accommodation fee. The price is scheduled to increase from March 2026.

I wonder what I get to see if I run guest house, And foreigners see a surroundings I grew up. KAYABUKI thatched house with IRORI, HORI-KOTATSU & KAMADO-oven ...that used to be old samurai house about 250-year-old. You can get experience real local life by sharing our dairy place, having chat over dinner with us. Pick up vegetables from our farm and take fresh eggs from hens (otherwise from other egg farm) and let's cook together !
