Sitting in the Rock River Valley, Oregon, Illinois is a charming town with much to offer visitors. Three state parks full of hiking trails are nearby. Rent canoes or kayaks to float down the scenic Rock River. Walking distance from our home is Park West with a trail, tennis courts, play area, splash pad and a sledding hill. Downtown Oregon's restaurants, bars and stores are a short drive or a pleasant walk. For business travelers, the Byron plant, Woods, Etnyre and KSB Hospital are short drives.

Skip & Reed's River Retreat

Wonderful riverfront home located just south of Castle Rock on the Rock River in Oregon, IL. Enjoy beautiful views of the river while enjoying the heated pool (open May 15th through Oct 10th). Enjoy fishing off the lower yard. Must love cats as there are friendly outdoor cats! The Oregon area has plenty to do including exploring the nearby state parks, climbing Castle Rock, visiting John Deere's home, antiquing, tubing and boating down the river & enjoying the quaint area shops & restaurants.

Loft 3 - On The Historic Monroe Square

Loft 3 is 40 steps (2 flights of stairs) above the Monroe Square. It's a climb, but the view is totally worth it! Newly remodeled in 2021, and reminiscent of the 1859 character of the building, this space is cute, cozy, and truly one of a kind. Literally a couple steps away from your entryway is Sunrise Donut Cafe, featuring customized donuts and a full menu of excellent coffee items. From there, explore the rest of the Square for food, drinks, and shopping in a quaint Main Street atmosphere.

Our 1875 Victorian cottage offers a blend of history and comfort. My husband and I lovingly decorated to make a peaceful escape with vintage charm. It was even used as a filming location for a Hulu show! Relax on the porch, explore nearby nature, or unwind with movies, books, and games. Downtown restaurants, brewery, shops, and scenic views are a short walk away. Ideal for couples, solo travelers, small groups, and business travelers. Nearby: Woods, Etnyre, the Byron plant, and KSB Hospital.

Located near highway 20 offers easy access to the airport and highways 39 and 90. The home is 4 min away from Atwood Park, providing miles of scenic hiking and a rescued bird aviary. A 13 min drive gets you to downtown Rockford with numerous shops, museums, restaurants and views of the Rock River.
