Review for Mooiplaats: What a lovely, little farm getaway. Bea and her husband, Wim, are amazing hosts and great people. The BnB is fitted with all you need to enjoy a peaceful and lovely time. Surrounded by the sounds of the farm at night, the little farm house is private and perfect. They also have their own butchery with the best bacon ever! I would highly recommend this gem to anyone with an appreciation of farmstyle living. The surrounding area also has an amazing "Melkery". So between lovely cheeses and great meat, you are sorted. And for R75pp, lovely Bea might organise a tasty farmhouse breakfast... 5/5.

Really lovely get away close to Joburg. Trevor and George were great, accommodating hosts. We had a fabulous time, with many bonfires, lovely hikes ans kids playing in the pristine river. We will definitely be back.

Absolutely enjoyable experience, peaceful and serene. Spent the week fishing in their dam and other local dams with my Farther, caught plenty bass, was a really fun experience and hope to see the area again soon. Marilé was a great host, always helpful and responsive.

Our stay was absolutely unforgettable! Each morning, we were greeted by kudu, wildebeest, warthogs, impala, and bushbuck right outside our doorstep—it felt like stepping into a wildlife documentary. At night, the haunting calls of lions in the distance added a sense of wild magic to the experience. The host's guidebook was incredibly helpful and led us to some truly amazing adventures—the highlight being our unforgettable visit to Kruger National Park with Kruger Pride Safaris. This place offers unbeatable value for money and an experience that’s both relaxing and exhilarating. Without a doubt, one of the most memorable stays we’ve ever had. Highly recommended!

We had a lovely stay. A home away from home. The cottage has everything you need, comfy beds and quality bedding. Walk everywhere you want, no need for a vehicle. I will definitely stay at Cabin and Cottage again and rate this place highly. Peaceful and quiet surroundings.

I stayed at Stoney Brooke for 3 months, all my needs where met, they are very accomodating, I loved staying there, the peace and quiet is very good for the soul. I will stay there again next year.

Tamar and her partner Mark have created a lush paradise within their compound. They have a beautiful and bountiful garden that provided us with fresh fruits and vegetables, the accommodations are exactly as pictured in the photos, and the whole experience was delightful. I went on an all-day excursion/hike with their artist son Simon to look at rock art, which was fascinating. And we also enjoyed taking a peek at the operations of The Artist’s Press. This was a great place to rest for a few days after our long journey from the United States, and also after our 4-day excursion to Kruger. We highly recommend it. The only word of caution is that arriving at night can feel challenging, but Simon’s directions and google maps got us there without a hitch.

An absolutely fantastic getaway! The Bungalow exceeded all expectations and provided the perfect escape from the city. The natural hot spring was undoubtedly the highlight—soaking in the 50°C mineral-rich water under the stars was an unforgettable experience. The property is beautifully secluded, offering complete privacy with stunning riverfront views, mountain scenery, and an abundance of birdlife. It’s the ideal place to relax, disconnect, and enjoy nature at its finest. The bungalow itself has a unique rustic Mediterranean-African charm, blending effortlessly with the natural surroundings. The braai and pizza oven were great additions, making outdoor cooking a pleasure. We also appreciated the fast WiFi, which worked even when there were temporary power trips (to clarify—there was no load shedding during our stay). A standout experience was the magical three-course meal Schalk arranged for us atop one of the nearby mountains.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house is beautiful, spotlessly clean, and wonderfully tranquil. Communication from the host was excellent throughout. Highly recommended!

Very spacious, neat, clean and beautifully furnished. The host was very communicative before and after check in assisting with even the smallest details. The air conditioning works wonderfully and is an absolute necessity for the area. Whilst we didn’t need it, the back up power gave us peace of mind and is something we always look for when booking accommodation in SA. The Trellidor surrounding the patio is also a great feature. The pool was clean and well maintained and the water was the right temperature for swimming. The daily cleaning was very convenient as were the en suite bathrooms in every room.

So good we went again. Beautiful surroundings and great hosts. Highly recommend

Beautiful stay, wish we could stay longer!

A beautiful, peaceful spot - stunning sunsets and cosy fire. Perfect spot to catch up with friends and family. Simon was responsive and really made our stay easy !!

Angela is a wonderful host. She gave us clear instructions and the place is a heaven. View from the hackle lodge is amazing. The place is very clean, spacious and calm. She has provided almost all kitchen appliances and cutleries. Easy to entertain kids with the activities in the estate.

Madeleine and Johan were wonderful hosts. We enjoyed our stay in the beautiful and relaxing setting. The kids loved paying with the dogs and feeding the ostriches and having the freedom to run around. We will definitely be back!

Family loved the house! Surrounded in nature and saw all sorts of animals. House itself was very spacious and clean. Lot of things to be excited about! Also much affordable option and only 20-30 mins from Krueger park!

Andy was fantastic hosts, making them feel welcome. The check-in was seamless, and the location was perfect—peaceful yet close to Kruger. The reception staff was absolutely wonderful. Mr. Ayn was helpful and had a nice personality and was available around the clock. The place met all requirements, in addition to the fact that the place was very beautiful, the nature was stunning, and the accommodation was very comfortable. We had a 10 day stay with our family from Germany. It was peaceful, beautiful and nice touch that the entire farm, grounds and surrounds were available to us to explore. The farm manager was helpful, we enjoyed meeting the owners. The facilities are great and a bonus of having staff accommodation at no additional cost which enabled us to have our chef and nanny travel with us.

Wir hatten einen wunderschönen Aufenthalt im Baumhaus von Marco und Louisa. Das Baumhaus war mit viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet und perfekt ausgestattet. Da wir zuvor viel unterwegs waren entspannten wir tagsüber am Infinity Pool mit toller Aussicht und wunderschönem Garten in ruhiger Lage. Marco und Louisa sind tolle, hilfsbereite Gastgeber, die sich Zeit für ihre Gäste nehmen. Die Unterkunft ist definitiv weiterzuempfehlen!
