Great place to stay to explore Orkney. The annexe to the house was well designed as a holiday let. We were a family of 3 and it was the perfect size, would be a bit of a squeeze for 4 adults. There was a lovely sunny outside space to sit and read or eat.

Beautiful home and Rachael was a great host (hands off but very responsive-just what I like). The location cannot be beat. We had a car but chose to taxi most places. Even our taxi drivers were admiring the location. The hot tub was AMAZING. We got stuck on the island an extra day due to weather conditions impacting ferry crossings. Rachael was able to accommodate an extra nights stay. Although you feel very remote, there are 3 grocery stores within 10 minutes and you have easy access to all of Kirkwall. Favorite part was the neighbor sheep….waking up and looking out to see all the sheep while you get ready was so fun!

We had a fantastic experience staying at Barbara’s Airbnb! Her studio was exactly as described. Clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. The location was perfect, a short walk to Kirkwall town centre. The amenities within the studio like Wi-Fi, TV, bedding and shower were all top-notch. Although we didn't use it on this occasion, we thought having an air fryer in the kitchenette was a great idea! We especially loved some of the goodies Barbara has provided for us, such as shortbread, oatcakes and even an Easter egg each as it was the Easter weekend. I’d highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area and would love to stay again in the future! Thanks Barbara :)

Carole was a lovely, friendly host, and greeted my son as soon as we arrived, and showed us around the house & surrounding walks. The cottage is beautiful and cosy, with a gorgeous old inglenook style fireplace, and the kitchen has everything you could possibly need. It is situated in pretty countryside with a stunning cliff walk at the end of the driveway. It was an ideal base for looking around Orkney and only took 35 mins to get into Kirkwall. I couldnt recommend it highly enough!

Toft...what can I say?It makes such a difference if somebody loves hosting & going the extra mile in creating a home from home. The house is incredible tastefully decorated including cosy blankets, lovely cushions, matching kitchenware, local wall art... - such a sight for sore eyes. And you instantly feel at home. Jane provided some great breakfast food to get you started. You have literally EVERYTHING you need - and more...really interesting books (not the old ones you wanted to get rid off or people left behind) and games, too. When we first arrived we could not believe the location - you have a breathtaking view on Hoy from the lounge and the bedroom. You could basically just snuggle up and stare at the sea the whole day. Jane is superfriendly & SO discrete, you do not even notice she lives next door, yet she is always there when you need her. And her adorable cat who we instantly fell in love with! We did not want to leave. Toft is beyond beautiful. Thank you SO much, Jane

Denise and Stephen’s cottage is a real gem and we would definitely book again. Everything was squeaky clean, well appointed and comfortable. Denise gave lots of recommendations and just wish we had more time to investigate. Thank you both very much.

We had a wonderful time touring Orkney in Bumble. The van is very well equipped, and even novice campervanners like us managed to find everything. Ed’s list of off grid places to stop was invaluable—and Orkney is gorgeous.

The cottage was perfect for us It was private and extremely comfortable. The views of the sunsets and sunrises were awesome
