I couldn’t have asked for more while staying at Kari’s little patch of paradise! I wasn’t sure what to expect with a shared property but honestly Kari and Kirk were the best hosts and weren’t seen except when we invited them to join us. We were joined by the two sweetest pups, Bailey and Briggs and they quickly stole our hearts. The location was great, far enough you felt like you were away from civilization but close enough you didn’t have to travel much for anything. Everything you could possibly need was provided so leaving wasn’t necessary at all once you got there with groceries. We cannot wait to book again in the next year or two and really take advantage of everything Kari and Kirk have provided! Thank you so much for a wonderful experience.

Beautiful property right on the lake run by a lovely, friendly couple and their pup, Jack, who kept my dog company! The cabin is exactly as it looks in the photos, and is a perfect escape if you just need some time away. Cliff was onsite for most of the time I was there and was so friendly, asked me if I needed anything when he left for town and brought out a canoe for me to explore the inlet. This is a small community where loyal visitors have been coming for years, so it felt safe and friendly. The cabin was exactly as pictured and had everything we needed—and an awesome deal for the location and company—but like others have said, it’s not a fancy resort :) it’s a family-owned old log cabin. Enjoy it!

Fue muy agradable mi estancia, las cabañas muy bien equipadas, algunos juegos de mesa para las noches de ocio, pude disfrutar de paseos en Kayaks, baños de sauna, se puede contemplar bellas puestas de sol y lo más importante se siente una paz que te sientes conectado con la naturaleza. Su anfitrión una bella persona por su agradable trato y muy atento. Estoy segura que volvería las veces que pueda porque puedo decir que me siento como en casa.

Needed a comfy cozy place to stay while my mom recovered from a stroke. Location was perfect for her to sit and enjoy the views and surroundings. Cozy place with lots of nice little touches. Huge Pampered Chef fan so it was SO nice to see the kitchen well stocked with Pampered Chef. A bonus.

We enjoyed staying here. We appreciated that there was a full size fridge and a spacious living room area that was separate from the bedroom. The place was mostly clean, but some things, especially the bathroom floor and mirror, were a bit dusty, so a cleaner bathroom would have been nice. Also, in going around to the back yard to the Airbnb private entrance, we did have to pass clothes and towels laying in the mud, which made the entrance to the Airbnb look untidy and less welcoming. Also, it is the basement of a house, so we could sometimes hear distant noises from upstairs, but nothing disruptive or distracting. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and this was a great, affordable place to stay on our trip to Canada.

This was the second stay at this island after 2022. Despite the end of the summer and temperature dropped to high teens, the lake water was warm enough to swim in, especially with the sauna situated right by the lakeside. Above all, having the whole island to ourselves for the weekend was one of a kind experience.

Can’t say enough about this rustic cabin getaway. It’s located on beautiful lake. It was quiet and peaceful. Brant was an amazing host, and made sure we had everything we needed for a wonderful couple of days. I highly recommend this little slice of heaven!

Emma and Corrie's cabin is very cosy and comfortable! Very kind and caring people, easy to contact and very quick responses. Would highly recommend to anyone!

Our cabin at the Citadel Retreat was perfect as a north country outpost. It was well put together, not overly furnished but perfectly equipped for being comfortable during our multi-day stay. Grahame is a delight to communicate and work with -- super knowledgeable, always to the point + fun. We enjoyed exploring Pinus Lake by canoe and also visiting other sights in the area via a short drive. One shouldn't come to the Citadel if one's expectation is for a degree of pampering in the arrangements .. but if you're up for being comfortable + in close touch with the lake country environment this is a great place to be.
