Robert's retreat is exactly what our family needed to get away from our ticky-tacky suburban lifestyle. Our dog could run free as could our kids. Yes it was colder/wetter than we hoped and being from the south put as at odds with nature but we enjoyed the wonderful wide open out doors in small sprints. From walking the hanging foot bridge over and over to teaching my girls to cast and reel their first rod. We lit a fire the first night and the negative ions had the effect i had hoped for. My kids read and relaxed for bedtime. Robert is the epitome of "hospitality " always a few minutes away via chat to answer questions and provide guidance. I did learn that the Airbnb policy indicates that it is incumbent on the renter to provide their own firewood. Robert was gracious enough to supply wood for our first night but something you should consider logistically if staying more than a day during winter. It is a really nice, peaceful place, with beautiful surroundings, great host, place is close to many outdoor activities.

This exceeded our expectations! Beautifully appointed. Diane must have used an interior decorator. We had "welcome" treats waiting for us. Spotlessly clean! Culpepper was a charming town to explore. Great restaurants.

I’ve been in some more rustic conditions with Airbnb lately, but this house was clean and in good condition overall. It was right by the water and just perfect for what we needed.

Hap and Jennie's place is perfect! Spectacular views, stunning property, spacious rooms (with plenty of comfortable seating and super comfy beds!), stocked with everything you can think of and more...The games room was fantastic & the guide book was helpful...we could go on and on!! We also appreciated the opportunity to bring along our dog who also had a great time (she enjoyed listening to and watching the many birds as much as we did). Hap & Jennie were immediately responsive and informative any time we had questions, too. This is an outstanding place with phenomenal hosts and we hope to return. HIGHLY recommend!

This was a lovely, peaceful spot! We enjoyed the proximity to Shenandoah National Park for hiking. The river was an added bonus! The house had absolutely everything we could have needed from spices to nightlights to great wifi.

A very lovely house to stay in with a beautiful location. My husband loved being able to fish in the river. We would definitely stay here again if we came back to the area.

Our stay at David’s property was nothing short of magical. It was even more beautiful than the pictures! We arrived late at night and the driveway was a little tricky to find at first, but after that, everything was even better than we had hoped. The house was cozy, spotless, and welcoming, and the kitchen was more modern and better stocked than we expected. We enjoyed coffee on the expansive deck each morning and roasted marshmallows over the fire pit at night — a perfect way to end our days. The property itself is stunning, and we walked it daily with our grandson and two dogs. After full days exploring Shenandoah National Park, it was the perfect place to come home to. Traveling with a six-year-old and two dogs can be a challenge, but this stay made it easy and memorable. We’re already talking about coming back next year! Joi's place was perfect for our annual three-family vacation. The house is beautiful and has a great layout for family gatherings with a huge dining table and open kitchen/living room concept. The house was pristine and had so many amenities and extras - including everything you could want in the kitchen and bathrooms. We thoroughly enjoyed the kayaks, the bikes, and the lawn games. The kids loved the video games, foosball, ping pong and pool table. The hot tub was great, too. Joi is very responsive and communicative and was helpful with any question we had. Highly recommend - would definitely stay here again!

Firnew Cottage is surrounded by a beautiful setting. My kids loved walking to the river and playing there. We all loved having Firnew’s dog Louie visit us daily. I found picturesque views everywhere while walking the grounds and trails. We were also in a great location to drive out for hikes. Thank you to Alex, David and Trish for being such friendly hosts.

We enjoyed renting Jackson Hole house. It is our second time being there and the house was clean and had everything that we needed for our stay. The house is spacious and everything was in working order.
