Our weekend girls' trip getaway to Susanne's pastoral family homeplace was absolutely wonderful, as this property is truly its own point of interest! While all bed/bath/kitchen provisions were top notch and well exceeded a typical amenity checklist, the thing that comforted us the most was a warm and open welcoming into the doors of this historic family home. From classic furnishings and sturdy wares, old photos and whimsical trinkets, interesting nooks and mysterious crannies, peaceful porch seating and delightful cow parades, abundant trees and beautiful flowers... we felt like we were right at home. Although we could have been perfectly content staying parked on the property our entire stay (and may plan to do just that for our next visit) we opted to enjoy a lovely drive for a day hike to a stunning waterfall in Shenandoah National Park, and went in to Charlottesville for some shopping on the pedestrian mall. We 100% recommend this historic property and Susanne's warm hospitality!

Quiet place to stay close to Culpeper but not in the town. Easy to get downtown. Very nicely decorated.

Our family had the best time here! Loved the yurt! There is a creek across the street that the children played in, we fished in the pond, played baseball in the meadow, had a campfire under the stars. The beds were super comfortable, we enjoyed the privacy and the beauty of the area. We hope to go back and stay longer next time! Well appointed kitchen, super clean home, responsive host, beautiful views through the many windows, private stay yet close to activities. It’s a gem, for sure!

The house was perfect for our family Middleburg weekend stay. It was clean, cozy, well stocked, and centrally located. The tavern across the street was so convenient and added a local feel. We would definitely stay here again when we are in the area.

This was a lovely stay! A cozy scenic retreat yet close to virtually anything one could want to do in Charlottesville. From the moment of arrival to our departure everything was outstanding. The living areas are welcoming and homey, the galley-style kitchen is ideal for coffee and a quick breakfast, and the bed is big and comfy. We especially appreciated all the little personal touches and how peaceful the setting is. And of course, it is a joy waking up in the morning, looking out the back window and seeing beautiful sheep a short distance away. We will definitely return next time we visit Charlottesville!

Connie's Rock Cottage was amazing! much thought was put into this cottage. Firewood and fire starter for the wood stove on chilly nights, robes we used for getting to and from the private hot tub just steps outside the back door,map of entire 550 acres of land including the wonderful paved walkway which meanders through the property. This was the mosr exceptionally prepared kitchen we have seen in out travels. Tons of utensils, a full set of potsand pans, dish towels, trivets, cutting boards and cooking sheets! We love to cook together when we travel and this kitchen was big enough for 2! We got some amazing pictures all over the farm. The lack of light pollution allowed us to enjoy the stars and Pink Full Moon in all their glory! We will be back to enjoy this cottage again!

Jimmie and his wife were very welcoming! We had a fantastic stay and cannot thank them enough for sharing their home and beautiful farm. The suite had everything as described and was perfect for our stay in the area.

The yurt was a cozy and comfortable place to make loads of great memories with our family. The host was very responsive to any questions we had and the accommodations and location felt magical. Our family enjoyed the easy walking trails, campfires, and the hot tub overlooking the mountains. We highly recommend this special spot!

It was a perfect Escape! We recently spent a night at this charming Airbnb, and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. Everything was perfect from start to finish! Our host was incredibly welcoming and attentive, ensuring that we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The property is a true gem, complete with not only cattle but also adorable goats and their playful kids. Watching them frolic around the pasture was a delightful highlight of our visit! The sounds of the farm animals, along with the serene countryside views, created a peaceful ambiance that we thoroughly enjoyed. The property itself felt safe, secure, and wonderfully secluded, providing us with the peace and privacy we were looking for. We appreciated the opportunity to connect with nature and observe the animals up close. We highly recommend this lovely retreat to anyone seeking a tranquil escape. It’s a perfect getaway for couples.

Our family enjoyed our time at Patti’s place. The place is comfortable and easy to navigate. The outdoor seating areas are relaxing and great for star gazing.

Enjoyed staying here, would recommend it. If I am in the area again I hope to stay here. They provide feed for the goats, and fresh farm eggs, which is a really nice touch.

Absolutely stunning place! Its most definitely beautiful and worth the price. It’s also where I got married and I wouldn’t change a thing. I couldn’t have asked for a better host. Jim made sure I had everything I needed and checked in a few times to make sure everything was good. I would highly recommend for a micro-wedding or even a small event!! I was also left with flowers & a special card from the elmwood farm. Such a wonderful place.

We are absolutely OBSESSED with this place. The silo was everything we imagined and more. The farm animals are literally a few feet away from the front door and gave us a warm welcome as soon as we arrived. From riding several miles of bike trails to fishing and boating in the pond, there was never a bored moment. The owners Ashleigh and Mike were super nice and made us feel right at home. This was definitely one of our top spots we’ve stayed at and can’t wait to return in the future!

We had an amazing stay at this charming farmhouse w our young kids and elderly parents! The property was perfect for a relaxing getaway that we all needed. The chickens were a delight, and collecting fresh eggs was a unique experience. I cant tell you how much my kids love it. The pond added a serene touch, and the outdoor movie setup was a fantastic way to end our days. The host Hannah were incredibly welcoming and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed. She is so pleasant to work with and very responsive. She sent us the local recommended restaurant list and we love them all. We did a day trip to Washington DC easily from this location. Highly recommend this place for a peaceful retreat! Such an amazing airbnb stay and we will come back.

Staying at Steven’s cottage felt like stepping into a little hidden world—quiet, peaceful, and full of character. There’s something about the land that immediately makes you slow down and breathe a little deeper. The cottage itself is rich with history but also incredibly cozy and thoughtfully set up for comfort. We spent mornings (& evenings) by the lake, listening to the wind move through the trees, and eventually ended each night under the stars in the hot tub. We kept saying how there was no need to go anywhere—though everything is nearby, we didn’t want to leave. Everything we needed to relax was right there. We were outside hiking trails, swaying in hammocks, soaking up the views, and enjoying the fire pits. The axe throwing game was such a fun surprise, and inside, the glow of the gas fireplace made everything feel extra cozy. Steven is a great host—& takes pride in his beautiful piece of land. More than a stay—it’s a full experience, and one we won’t forget anytime soon.

Our stay was peaceful. Our first time for my wife and I along with our 15 year old daughter in Woodstock. The home is located around 3 other homes on open cow pasture land, but far enough to be very private. The kitchen was just remodeled and looks very nice along with new appliances. Inside was very clean and beds comfortable with memory foam mattresses. Internet was good enough to stream over TV in home. It was quiet at night, road you're on is private and very limited noise from vehicles on it day or night, although I did not see a speed limit sign so vehicles go any speed along that route. We didn't use the hot tub, pool(off season), grill or firepit(burning ban). We did use the ping pong table in garage and watched the TV in the area attached to it, very nice addition! It turned out very windy during our stay and with that it carried the highway traffic noise downwind which was worse at certain times outside, not inside. Other than that out stay was relaxing, visiting the area.

This was the second time we've stayed at Gin Lot Farms. We attended an event in downtown Fredericksburg and this was a very easy short to drive to get there. The house was perfect for our group. We look forward to coming back!

This was our fifth time staying here, which should say it all! We love the house itself, as well as the location. Can’t wait to come back!

Wonderful place in a very nice town. We had the best time trying different restaurants and relaxing around the cottage. Gita was super helpful and friendly, giving us plenty of recommendations. We will absolutely be back!

Lenah’s place was comfortable and clean. The location was ideal, for our visit, we attended a wedding at Great Marsh estates and it was less than a 5 minute drive.The apartment was also well-equipped with everything we needed. We especially loved the outside area with cows, horses, goats, and Alpacas running around in the neighbors fenced yard. We enjoyed watching them while relaxing on the front porch. We also took a ride to Crockets Park and walked the trails and explored the park. It was a beautiful spot with a lake, pedal boats and canoe rentals when in season. I recommend Lenah’s place if you want to relax and enjoy nature.

Our 3 nights stay at Golden Meadows Farm was wonderful! It far exceeded our expectations. Richard, our host, had even prepared for the last minute addition of our family dog. A water bowl was filled and waiting for her. The large fenced-in yard spaces were gated and secure, very well maintained, and a joy for our dog and the grand kids to run and play. The pond and surrounding grounds are beautiful and well landscaped. Richard was always available if we needed anything. He even gave us a dozen of his "home raised" eggs, which we all enjoyed for breakfast. The farm house was clean and well equipped with anything you might need during your stay. The beds and linens were very comfortable. My 4 year old granddaughter asked if we could live there :) We hope to be able to return to Richard and Julie's farm for another visit to the beautiful state of Virginia.

We had a lot of fun on our weekend getaway! The land is absolutely breathtaking and the house was impeccably clean. The cows are such a joy. When the cows are in the closest pasture, they share a fence with you. My dogs were startled at first.

Everything was perfect! The space was perfectly clean and had everything we needed. The area was quiet and peaceful. It was nice to meet Madison and learn a bit about their property and animals. The area was quiet and the view of the pastures was beautiful!

We loved our stay with Phillip and Georgia! They were responsive and friendly and could often be found outside on their grounds! They would always say hi and ask how things were going. If I needed anything all I had to do was send a text and Georgia was incredibly responsive. Best of all…this was the PERFECT play for my 3 year old. They had a play ground and a jungle gym that he just had a blast on. Additionally, they had chickens, ducks, goats, cats, and dogs to see and play with and observe. We even got to feed their goats! We felt right at home and we would 100% stay again.
