Enchanting Woodsy Getaway: Cozy Cabin

Cozy Cabin in Hvalfjörður (Whale fjord). A great spot to enjoy nature and the beautiful northern lights, still close to the city and all major attractions in south-west Iceland. The cabin is located in the north of Hvalfjörður in the hill Fornistekkur, facing the south with beautiful surroundings and Mt Brekkukambur at the back. In the cabin you'll be able to enjoy the quiet nature close to some of the main attractions and still reach Reykjavík in only 40-50 minutes. Close by you will find great hiking trails, for example to the second highest waterfall in Iceland Glymur, mere 10-15 minute drive away, to Síldarmannagötur and Mt Þyrill 5-8 min away. Hvammsvík's Hot Springs are just on the other side of the fjord, approx 20 min drive and guests in my cabin will get 15% discount there. Þingvellir national park is within an hour away and from there you can visit the Geysir and the Golden Circle among others in the south. In the west there are many wonderful attractions like Snæfellsjökull glacier, located at the Snæfellsnes Peninsula. The Peninsula is loaded with many attactions, like Arnarstapi, Djúpalónsandur, Hellnar, Kirkjuflell (the most photographed mountain in Iceland) and so on. In a walking distance from the cabin you might be able to pay a visit to our friendly Icelandic horses or have a walk on the beach where you might see seals. During winter (when it's dark) you'll have the opportunity to enjoy the northern lights, just outside in the hot tub or on the patio. The cabin is close to Hvalfjörður, Hvammsvík Hot springs, Glymur (Iceland's tallest waterfall), Thingvellir (30 min), Golden Circle and Snæfellsnes (170 km). The Kamburinn cottage is located in a small village called Hveregardi in the south-west of Iceland, a 40-minute drive from the capital, which will allow you to easily visit the attractions on the Golden Circle route. This village is popular for its phenomenal hiking trails, one of them is Reykjadalur Hot Springs. The cabin is in a secluded location in a mountainous area which allows you to see fantastic views of the Northern Lights, decorated cozy with everything you need during your stay.
