This is a lovely house with fabulous windows looking out over trees and mountains. Nice large deck which we spent most of our time on, enjoying watching the squirells and birds do their thing. Both bedrooms and bathrooms were comfortable and had lovely sky lights, lots of closet space and drawers to unpack, and lot of hangars! We enjoyed the jacuzzi (there were even extra towels provided). The drive in to town is about 2 minutes, but the walk would be strenuous (a couple good hills). We were there on the hottest weekend so far, and the wall air conditioner did cool off the main room nicely mid-day. By 5pm, the temperature begins to drop and we turned off the air and opened the many windows for the beautiful mountain air. Jeannie was easy to communicate with and we enjoyed our stay in her home.

Beautiful view of valley and mountains, but not as comfortable as we had hoped. The home was very hot when we arrived and the guest room was too warm for our baby, causing him to have trouble sleeping. There was dog hair on the rugs and on bed pillows which triggered a good amount of sneezing for the whole family. Finally, the hot tub cover was locked and we were not provided a key. When I contacted owner she initially asked me to do the leg work to contact the after hours manager myself. She eventually came through and contacted the manager, and we had access to the hot tub the next day. All in all, the home was a bit worn-down and not comfortable enough to warrant the rate we were charged.

I have rented this home out for years and have never had a bad review. I am very shocked at this review. There is air conditioning and fans in each room. The home is small enough to cool down very quickly when using both. There is only one throw rug in the main living area which is always vacuumed and the rest of the floors are all hardwood to avoid allergy issues, which have never been an issue. The bedding is cleaned thoroughly after every guest. The hot tub cover is always unlocked with this exception because the spa cleaner had just cleaned the spa hours before arrival and locked it inadvertently. As the owner I immediately responded, telling the guest I would have the local representative bring a key over, to which she responded not to do that, but to have it taken over in the AM instead, which I did. Every guest has always complimented how wonderful the home is. This guest is apparently not familiar with rental prices in this area and did not provide any details as to what she meant by uncomfortable. The furniture includes leather couch/loveseat/2 recliners and a swivel chair and ottoman - all leather. There is more than ample outdoor furniture with pads for the chairs/lounges. The beds have excellent mattresses on them and I have never had a complaint. Again, no details as to why this guest felt is was uncomfortable. If you are thinking about this as a vacation mountain home, please do not rely on this single review, but see the rest of the excellent reviews. Thank you! :)

The Dream Catcher is a wonderful home! The home itself is comfortable with all the necessary amenities. It is rustic yet very clean. The house has floor to ceiling windows that allows you to feel that you are part of the nature. The deck wrap around almost the entire house so there's plenty of room to be outdoors. The hot tub is also perfect especially after completing a one day hike to Mount San Jacinto Peak. There's nothing like watching the stars while soaking in a hot tub with your family. The wireless connection was extremely good because we all had to do some work and school assignment during our stay. Just bring some DVDs with you if you want to watch some movies- there's no Redbox in town so be sure to pick them up before you drive to Idyllwild. The house has some VHS too. The place was really quiet and secluded in spite of being close to the street and town. Jeannie's rental management support staff were all very helpful and sweet. One of the staff, Dorian even helped me find "Babba"- who is an awesome dog sitter. Babba will help take care of your furry family if you'll be hiking for a full day. Dogs are permitted in a lot of the trails around but we just opted to leave ours because they're already senior dogs. You would not be disappointed if you stay in Jeannie's wonderful home....Thank you so much Jeannie!

Jaw-dropping views and a cozy fireplace, what more is needed? Convenient for the center of Idyllwild while still feeling very private and secluded. Great for two couples or a small family. Host was helpful and made the whole process smooth and easy.

I moved from the SF Bay Area in 2001 to the Desert. I live in LaQuinta and practice law in the Inland Empire. I enjoy movies, hiking, bicycling, golf, and travel. I look forward to sharing with others my properties in Palm Desert and in the popular So Cal mountain community of Idyllwild, CA.
