Our place is close to The Mt.Baker - Snoqualmie National Forest in WA state. It sits directly on the Sauk River, a nationally designated Wild & Scenic stream. You’ll love our place because of It's proximity to beautiful Pacific North West rivers and forests while providing the amenities of a modern suburban home: high speed Internet, satellite TV, video steaming and more. Our place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, families (with kids), and furry friends (pets).
There are very few homes with the combination of modern luxury, small town shopping convenience and easy, year round accessibility from a major metropolitan area like Seattle that sit along a nationally recognized wild and scenic river with mountain views and lush Pacific coastal forests surrounding it all. You can literally walk to the Mt. Baker - Snoqualmie Forest boundary a quarter mile away or walk out to the patio and cast your fishing line into a pristine wild water river. If you bike, hike, kayak, raft, climb, or just like sitting by a crackling fire, reading a book this house provides all these opportunities and more. There is a natural spirituality here that is a rare experience for those who love nature and the solitude of the streams and forests.

The town of Darrington has a full time fire and police unit provided by Snohomish County. There is an IGA supermarket about a mile away plus a Shell Station convenience store, a cafe and a little further on, a sports bar/restaurant. The town has a brew pub, the River Time. There is a pharmacy/gift shop along the main street and a great little cafe/bakery that makes pizzas, soup and sandwiches to go if requested. If hunting or fishing is your thing there is an outdoors shop across from the IGA that carries fishing and hunting supplies, clothing and sells the licenses for both. The town also has a traditional beer and wine bar, the, Red Top, plus a NAPA parts store and an auto repair shop next door. And yes, there is a US Post Office also. The Do It Center hardware store is a little further out of town along SR 530 and a Coastal bank with ATM is located in the same building. The USDA Forest Service Ranger Station is also located along SR 530 inside the town limits. There you can get all the info you need for hiking, climbing, maps, trail passes etc. The town has a book store and antique shops on the old town main street.

Did you see the move "Anger Management" starring Jack Nicholson, Adam Sandler and Marissa Tomei? If not and you like cracking comedies I strongly suggest you do. I bring it up because in a group therapy session where Nicholson is the psychologist running the show, Jack asks Adam more or less the same question, "Who are you". Adam's struggle to answer the question is pathetic and he finally admits he doesn't know who he is. Everyone laughs and the show moves on. In another movie, "Pretty Woman", Richard Gere asks Julia Roberts who she is. Her answer, "Who do you want me to be?" So I'm going to leave the description of myself as, "A man who wants to rent you a very nice house at a reasonable price" If that works for you it works for me. If you want a more detailed description we can have that discussion after you book.
