Complete with a well-equipped kitchen, heat pump, and included linen, it’s perfect for couples or small families. Please note you are required to clean before departure.

Misty Mountain Hut - Ruapehu

Misty Mountain Hut-Ruapehu is located in the sleepy little village of Rangataua, 5 minutes distance to Mountain road going up to the Turoa skifield and Ohakune. The 1 bedroom colonial villa has a beautiful view of the mountain. Unlimited wifi and a new firebox with plenty of firewood and a heat pump ensure you are warm in winter. My favourite time here is summer for amazing walks/cycling up mountains to enjoy majestic views. Misty Mountain Hut supports local staff by paying $40/hr for cleaning.

Escape to 'Ewing Escape', Taupo

“WOW, the view - the photos don’t do it justice” say guests on arrival, and it’s true. The view will take your breath away day and night. Only a few hundred metres walk to Acacia Bay Beach to swim (or fish for trout) in the super clean freshwater lake. Oh, and the peace and quiet from this side of the lake. The cottage is modern, comfortable, & fully self-contained inc WM, drier and laundry powder. Only 7km to Taupo town centre so close enough to experience all Taupo township has to offer.

Within easy walking distance to restaurants, supermarket, pharmacy, bike rental shops, the Carrot Park, i-SITE and Intercity bus stop. Our modern home is 15 minutes from Taupō yet feels like a private hideaway. Quiet and secluded, it looks out to Lake Taupō and Mount Ruapehu, with stunning sunsets. Ideal year-round, it has outdoor areas with BBQ, large windows and a double-sided fireplace. Whakaipo Bay is 5 minutes away for swimming or walking, with plenty of bush tracks nearby. Not suitable for children. Hairdryer, toiletries and iron not provided (sorry guests keep taking them and it’s to hard to constantly replace).

Visit Owhango ( 25 minutes ) for fishing, hunting and bush walks.

The Mangawhero River and cycle way are a 1 minute walk.
