“Nestled in Houston's Historic District, Market Square Park actually sits on the site of the original City Hall (and the three iterations that followed), providing a place for entertainment, dining, public art and—yes—green space. The goal? Create an increased sense of community for downtown's businesses and its growing number of residents. A large central lawn dominates the park, which is bordered by Congress, Travis, Preston and Milam streets.”

Playas

Beach
“There is a pay for fishing pier. A sandy beach with water access is a nice place to cool off on a hot day. Since it is on the bay, the waves are typically gentler than the gulf. The kids will love the play structures. If you have a skateboarder, they may want to check out the skate park. The gazebos offer great views of the bay. There are also covered picnic benches and a boat launch. ”
