You'll need reservations for Collage. We think it's the best restaurant in all of St. Augustine. Pricey, but worth it. They book way ahead, so you need to plan.

Sightseeing

We thought this would be a kitchy place. Not so. It's really interesting and you can easily spend four or more hours there. They discuss the history and culture of the Indians, speak about the Spanish and how they impacted the area. The show at the planetarium will take you through the old ways to navigate. There is living history and many structures throughout the site. They shoot off a cannon at various times. There are living history demonstrations and more. Great for kids and adults.

(Mid November – End of January). Absolutely stunning!!! Night of Lights started in 1992. Since then, it has become well known. Nights of Lights dazzles the Historic District of St Augustine with over 3 million lights. You don’t want to miss this! The Holly Jolly Train is an amazing way to see the displays and hear the history of St. Augustine.

It’s a great way to get around and get oriented to St. Augustine (parking near the Old Town is very difficult). There is a stop right across San Marco in the middle of the hotel. The quality of the tour depends on the driver, but it’s hop-on/ hop-off: if you’re not thrilled with the one you have. If you take a tour, they usually include parking.

Don’t forget to enjoy the beach while you’re here! Vilano Beach has a funky 1950’s vibe to it, but there’s not much else to do but drive around and take a look. For the beach, just go north on A1A to the first overpass pedestrian bridge and park on the left, walk over to the beach. We like that beach.
