There are many trails to hike here. My favorites are walking around Lake Minnewaska (upper parking lot), and Awosting Falls (lower parking lot). Note that there's a per car fee, but if you have an Empire State Park pass it's no charge. Arrive early in peak seasons, as parking is somewhat limited.

Shhhh. Don't tell anyone about this place. It's our local secret. In tourist season and you want to avoid the crowds, go here, or to any of the scenic hudson parks. This one is especially close and not very crowded. Gorgeous. Parking is limited. The link above is the lower parking lot. I prefer the upper lot as it’s adjacent to the pond. I prefer take-out here, because the ambiance is not my favorite (unless eating on the patio).
