Food Scene and Restaurants we recommend

We love supporting ‘the independents' and highly recommend supporting locals if you’re visiting Cheltenham! We have a fantastic, thriving restaurant scene here and all of them are easily walkable from the flat (or why not take ZWING if you’re feeling adventurous?) Make sure you download the app and set it up before you arrive! There are pick-up and drop-off points very close to the Flat and at the top of Montpellier. Foodies? Montpellier is a very easy 5-minute walk and there are tons of restaurants to choose from - Gallimore's Kitchen (fab seafood and more) in a lovely courtyard setting. Perfect for a sunny lunch. Sams of Montpellier also offers a great menu, small plates, and amazing cocktails too . Better for an evening visit. Both are located in The Courtyard. - Chaplais Kitchen - small menu and great Italian based menu - pizzas, pasta and FAB burgers! We LOVE the Lasagna too. It's a great brekkie, lunch, and dinner spot. Roadside so you can people watch. - - Bombay & Co is an excellent Indian ‘Street Food’ restaurant - If you fancy something a bit more ‘rustic’ located down in the lower high street, don’t be put off by the area or the restaurant the food is amazing. Make sure you get what the owner recommends you try! Prithvi is the posh Indian nosh - definitely worth a visit for a special occasion. There's also a Michelin restaurant a 2-minute walk from the flat - Champignon Savage. - Sri Lankan – try The Coconut Tree (there's a few now all over the country - what a success story! Or there's a newbie on the block which has just opened in the town, called Karapincha, we have tried it a few times and the offerings are delicious, apparently takeaway is also good. Nothing fancy restaurant-wise but good grub! If you’re after a good brekkie there’s a great cafe called The Curious Cafe on Bath Road - a few min's walk away. - Dinner and drinks? 131 is a great spot for people-watching, however, service can be hit and miss. They have a new Japanese restaurant called YOKU. It's fancy and expensive but if you want something totally Instagram-able then maybe give this a go. The bar Gin & Juice is a late-night spot too with a DJ and has a mixed crowd there of all ages. - If you like steak - The Ox. And Cote and Brasserie Blanc are a safe bet too (and close to The Flat) - We’ve also heard good things about Number 3 and there’s a fab Japanese called Kibou. Tbh You have masses of choice. Spoilt for choice just make sure you book ahead. All are easily walkable from the flat. Everywhere is very busy. Trip advisor is pretty spot on with good places too depending on what your tastes are. Any questions please just ask. Sam 😊
