Consejos para la ciudad

Formas de ahorrar

Foodland Poke

a great budget option if you want some ono poke
Qué empacar

Reef Safe Sunscreen

don't burn on the first day and don't kill the coral! pick up some reef safe sunscreen here or pack it your self but make sure it says reef safe, it's illegal in Hawaii to have or sell non reef safe sunscreen
Cómo moverse

Car is the easiest way to venture past the NS

If you're going to spend your time here exploring the whole island, a car rental is the way to go! plenty of options by the airport and there's very few Ubers here on the NS.
Cómo moverse

Bike is the best way to get around the 7 mile stretch

You'll be staying about 1/4 of a mile away from the bike path entrance! if you're here to surf or beach bum only you can probably get by with only renting a bike! I recommend Seamaids, it's nearby and $25/day.

The Bus

The Bus has many stops right outside of where you'll be staying, it'll be a long ride but if you want to save money and don't plan on going too far out, it's a perfect option! there's a bus line that goes from Kaneohe <-> Haleiwa that stops here and transfers that can get you all the way to Ala Moana!
Reserva antes de ir

Luau

Luaus book up fast here! And most are far away from where you'll be staying. One nearby option is the Polynesian Cultural Center Luau which is amazing but books up fast!! Book that ASAP

Beach Rules

When in doubt, don't go out!! Pay attention to posted signage! Pay attention to when there's no lifeguard! Don't turn your back on the ocean! Thousands of people get rescued each year from Hawaii's beaches, don't be one of them! During the winter months (November - April) most of the North Shore is *not* safe for swimming! There are a few exceptions and it varies by day but please stay safe.

Hiking

MANY hikes on O'ahu are illegal, please pay attention to posted signs. If you would like some recommendations for hiking just ask me and we can talk about some fun, safe, and legal ones!

Malama

Pack out what you pack in, don't litter the beautiful beaches and trails in Hawaii! One of the reasons Hawaii is so beautiful is the care (malama) that the residents here have for the islands. Malama for our island home and don't litter! Leave places better than you found them.
