Just a 15 minute flattish walk from the cottage, enjoy a stroll and the fabulous view over Tintern Abbey. You can then walk 40mins to enjoy a cool beer under the shadow of this magnificent structure

An hours drive and a steep climb… but worth it once you get to the top. Wrap up because it can be cold, even on a hot summers day

Sightseeing

Dewstow Gardens & Grottoes is one of the lesser well known attractions in South Wales, but also one of the most interesting. The gardens are a wonderful place to wander in themselves, with beautifully landscaped paths and decorative beds, waterfalls and pools and beneath all this, a labrynth of tunnels and grottoes . We spent a lovely two hours exploring this small but beautiful garden. Take a picnic and enjoy it for longer We’d recommend the cream tea. Scones were lovely and fresh

This was the first place we ate at when we moved to Tidenham Chase, and we keep returning for their renowned fish dishes and convivial hosts. Lovely walks from the pretty village and its castle add to the experience too
