beach

This small beach is at the end of our village. It is owned by the Stonington Village Improvement Association and is run by the community center. It's a small beach with a swim area. There are no changing areas or showers, but take a towel and a book and enjoy! You can also just walk down for sunset view, which is a great spot. (5 minute drive, 20 minute walk)

Watch Hill is about a 20 minute drive away, but the beaches are worth the drive (even with the crazy summer parking scene). Here you can enjoy big waves, gorgeous long beach and then get your fried food and ice cream from Claires, or more upscale treats at other local hotspots like ten sandwiches or the Tea room. (20 minute drive)

This beautiful saltwater marsh is a wonderful place to explore. In high tick season, stay on the trails to avoid getting bitten. There are trails that lead around the marshes and there is a smaller path that has a mini beach there too. It's stunning on any day, any season.

If you want to get out on the water, you can rent paddle boards or boats at NESS. Also, check out their class schedule to see if anything is of interest.
