Cheyenne Mountain State Park Visitor Center

This 1.8 mile hike (round trip) is rated fairly easy and the views from the top, of the mountains and city are amazing! The hike is forest immersive and the short drive to and from the trailhead from here is filled with winding roads in the trees and follows a small river, with plenty of pull-off opportunities (my favorite is #19). It’s on the way to Helen Hunt Falls (small but free and even more hiking options) and the Upper Gold Camp Road drive, both of which I highly recommend in my Guidebook. Back to nature and welcome to the Colorado mountains, folks!

Be sure to check out the description and photos to ensure that you would enjoy this type of atmosphere and Mediterranean-type food. Be prepared to wait a while for food/drinks; it’s just part of. Do not miss the spicy Brazilian coconut shrimp soup!

This fresh and authentic cuisine is AMAZING and is so close you could walk!! The food is served on a styrofoam plate, but is better suited for finery! Don’t forget the nutty baklava. 😊

This one is ~20 minutes away and is my favorite for an authentic rural diner experience. If that’s your type of thing too, then this greasy spoon is for you for breakfast and lunch (or is that dinner?)!

Good beer/full bar and, if you like a little kick, don’t miss the lemon Tabasco fried chicken; but all of the food is fantastic!
