Amazing coffee and quick bites down in the loop, always a good place to get your caffeine on in the mornings or wind down the afternoon with a selection of local beers. Both patio seating and indoor spaces are perfect to work on a project, meet up with friends, or just read all day long.

Both a restaurant and cafe/bakery, Winslow's Home is easy walking distance from the apartment and has a fantastic brunch. Highly recommended if you're thinking of getting a little gift for someone, as well, since they have homemade candies, jams, and assorted postcard.

Drinks & Nightlife

Rooftop bar also located in the loop, a really fun place to go for a drink on the weekend. 20-30 something crowd, expect to hear quality remixes of popular songs. Occasionally there's a wait to get in since space is limited, but never more than 20 minutes or so.

Parks & Nature

The largest park in Saint Louis (larger than Central Park!), Forest Park has something to offer for everyone. Located right next to the Delmar Loop and Washington University, the park houses acres of beautiful walking trails, lakes and fountains, as well as the Saint Louis Art Museum and Missouri History Museum. The Boathouse restaurant has delicious food and also offers boats to rent out on the lake.

Arts & Culture

Affectionately known as SLAM, the Saint Louis Art Museum is home to an outstanding permanent collection and interesting transient exhibits, this art museum is situated right at the top of Art Hill, which looks down upon the main lake in the park. The museum has collections from all around the world, and you could easily spend an entire day going through the maze of rooms. While it does have a cafe inside, we would definitely recommend stopping for lunch either in the elegant History Museum restaurant or go more casual at the Boathouse.

A much smaller museum than the art museum also located in Forest Park, the Missouri History Museum has classic exhibits on the history of Saint Louis and the surrounding area. The real highlights of this museum are the wonderful architecture, gift shop that boasts many local artists, and the restaurant, Bixby's. Bixby's is open for lunch during the week and employs a seasonal menu with local produce, and has a Sunday Brunch that is pricey but worth every penny. From April to September, the museum also has live music on the front lawn on Tuesday evenings that is free to the public.

Not truly an amusement park, but more of an indoor jungle, the City Museum is a must for all ages. There is a bar on the roof for the adults, but everyone enjoys climbing the myriad of structures inside and out, and exploring the maze of caves that tunnel through ten full stories!
