Walk or take the tram further into Nice, away from the coast to get a taste of what the locals enjoy. Really friendly staff who attend to regulars and tourists with equal care serve fantastic, tasty plates of French and Italian-inspired food that never disappoint. Arrive before lunch to enjoy the morning food market which sets up in the surrounding streets.

Don't be put off by the name! This is authentic French fare. Less "tourist-y" than most of the restaurants on the Cours Saleya, but still conveniently placed.

Shopping

Visit this beautiful shop for everything olive - from olive oil to eat, toiletries and kitchen items made from the wood. Ask to taste the oils. Dunk bread into "Ail & Thym" for instant garlic bread, drizzle "Basilic" onto tomotoes and mozarella for that Southern Med taste or simply Fruité Noir for the most intense olive taste. You'll never go back. TOP TIP: For those flying with hand luggage only, some of the A l'Olivier range can be purchased at Nice airport once you have gone through security.
