La Gran Vía is one of the main shopping malls in the country, you can find pretty much everywhere in there, from department stores, supermarket, pharmacy, barbershops, food court and a very wide offer of restaurants and even cinema.
It's only 10 min drive (or less), I highly recommend calling an Uber if you don't have a car even though the distance could be short to walk it's safer to go there by car, and it will cost you only a couple of dollars to Uber there.

The tourist season brings crowds, and even if you do not plan on hitting local bars, you can enjoy the lively atmosphere, surfing classes (from 20 USD ) and a lot of more fun stuff to do.
* I highly recommend for you to get (rent) a car, so you can have the flexibility to leave and come back whenever you want.

Car is the safest way to get around
The apartment is located in one of the safest neighborhoods in the country I highly recommend the guests to move around the city by car.
The city isn't precisely pedestrian friendly which can make it harder to get around walking.
I recommend avoid using public transportation or taxis (parked at the street) it's not the safest option mostly if you are new in the city and you will need to have cash on you to pay them.

El Salvador is a tropical weather, so be prepare for warm to hot temperatures (76°F to 91°F / 25°C to 33°C) and humidity.
Pack light/fresh clothes like if you are going for a summer vacation break. Just in case have a light sweater as some places will be basting their AC.
One of the most attractive places about El Salvador is the beach, it's very close to the city (about 25 min drive) so make sure you pack bathing suit for your trip.

Pupusas is by far the most famous dish of our local cuisine.
You can find a "Pupuseria" everywhere in the city, so be sure to try them when you get a chance. If you would rather having this delicious treat at the apartment you can find different pupuserias on Ubereats.
