Our favourite place to go as a family at the weekend with the dog. There are loads of places to go in the Ashdown Forest. There is a good walk about 10 minutes drive away we like to go on - if you want a recommendation please let us know otherwise we would suggest heading to the top of Black Hill past Black Hill car park where you’re likely to find the ice cream van at the car park where black hill, high road and chuck hatch road meet (just under 15 min drive). https://www.ashdownforest.org/home/index.php

About 5 minutes drive. A lovely walk. If you have a dog it is worth looking up online as they do restrict when a dog has to be on the lead (due to it being a RSPB area). Generally in winter dogs can be off the lead. Parking is free. https://www.rspb.org.uk/reserves-and-events/reserves-a-z/broadwater-warren/

About 5 minutes drive away. A good place to walk the dog and it is all tracked so you don’t necessarily need boots. Easy to push a pram/ buggy. There is a minimal car parking fee of approx £1. You can also camp and rock climb here is you have your own equipment. Entrance is off Eridge Road a few hundred metres on the right as though you are coming from Groombridge. https://www.forestryengland.uk/birchden-wood

Turn right out of the drive and it is 150 metres on the left. A park area to let the dog run around, playground and local cricket pitch. There is also a coffee shop generally open during the week day and is run by one of the local mothers. A good assortment of delicious cakes etc.

The historic part of Tunbridge Wells with good bars and restaurants. It is also worth bearing in mind Jazz on the Pantiles which is every Thursday through the summer. Free to go to and a lovely evening if you have the weather.

A great curry house in Hildenborough by the Hildenborough train station. Best curry in the area - they don’t deliver but do a take away and it’s under 15 mins drive but you shouldn’t be disappointed!
