If you don't have a Korean grocery in your hometown, I highly recommend visiting our local H mart. They have a great food court where you can get prepared food, but also have the best produce around, and lots of interesting grocery products from many Asian countries beyond Korea.

Putnam Patty is an excellent old fashioned Ice Cream and sweets Parlor. It is also an historic home, with a couple of other original colonial homes nearby huddled in a highway cloverleaf. They have some colonial history curiousities on display and the ice cream is delicious.

The hours are tricky but this museum has preserved some much overlooked history of colonial American life and has the only remaining structure in the northern states that was built to house enslaved people. Well worth a visit.

If driving, try to plan trips outside of peak commuter hours. The MBTA has buses, subways and commuter rail options. Alewife station in Cambridge has a big parking garage where you can hop on the trains and explore Boston without the hassle of parking or traffic.
